    Obama x Z-Trip x Obey

The Obama Ohana extends far beyond the state of Hawaii.  Take, for example, this mixtape.

Put together by world-renowned DJ Z-Trip (also an Island favorite), this mix has made it’s way around the country in live form, making it’s debut at many of the Z-Trip x Obey/Shepard Fairey fundraisers for the Barack Obama campaign called “The Party For Change.”

Now, that mix got recorded and has been put online for everyone to download and get involved.

Z-Trip has put up two versions: the mix he played at the events and a radio-friendly mix that is suitable for broadcast.

With the election coming up in a couple of months and everything being thrown into chaos right now, this is the most important elction that this generation will face.  The fate of our country relies on this election and I think it’s important for everyone to get involved and get educated about the issues, whether it be for the Presidential election, the Mayoral election or even down to the state senate and city council levels.

To start getting involved and to download this mix, you can hit up http://www.djztrip.com/obama

NOW, DO NOT TAKE THIS AS AN ENDORSEMENT FROM atypicalLIVING FOR ONE CANDIDATE OVER THE OTHER.  THIS IS JUST TO HELP GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THE ELECTION.  WE’RE NOT HERE TO TELL YOU WHICH WAY TO VOTE, BUT TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE TOPICS AND MAKE THE BEST DECISION YOU CAN.

Z-Trip at Next Door this Thursday

    flick: Honozooloo.com

This week marks the return of Z-Trip to Next Door.  If you remember last year’s performance, he absolutely tore it down for two nights.  This time, there’s only one chance to see him and it’s this Thursday night.

Along side Z-Trip, two of Hawaii’s top DJs will be blessing the tables with mad skill.  The Honolulu Bird Gang’s own chief promoter, Eskae, and the head lightsleeper, Kavet The Catalyst, will be in the building for this event.

You better be there, as well.

The event goes down this Thursday night at Next Door.  Doors open at 9pm.

Presales can be had at TooGruvs, Prototype, and Dig Lifestyles.  Also, you can hit up groovetickets.com for the online sales as well.
