    3 Deep

Contrast magazine is celebrating the launch of their 3rd issue this Saturday night with “3 Deep,” a music festival spanning three of Hawaii’s best Chinatown spots: The Loft, Next Door and Manifest.

The party starts at 7pm and will span across the three venues until 2am. This coincides with the 3rd Issue being called “The Downtown Issue.”

At Manifest, there’s an art display by DALEK and Kristen Lee Lim, with live music from Kimie Miner and the Super Handsome DJ’s crew.

The Loft will host Maui’s own, The Throwdowns, along with one of Hawaii’s best, The Jumpoffs.

Next Door will feature a showcase of Hawaii’s top bands, including Girlfriends and Clones of the Queen. DJ’s Kause 1 and Marika will be keeping the vibe going throughout the night.

Headlining the show and the entire event will be The Jumpoffs. Not only are they the featured band in the 3rd Issue of Contrast Magazine, but they are also releasing their debut, self-titled album at Next Door.

The bands will be performing at alternating times, so everyone has a chance to venue hop and check out each band throughout the night.

This all goes down this Saturday night in Chinatown. For more info, check out Contrast Magazine at http://www.ContrastMagazine.com

    The OOF! Tour

BAMP Project presents the return of Pacific Northwest favorite Blue Scholars on their “OOF! Tour,” to celebrate the release of their latest EP.

If you remember the last few times they came to Hawaii… they pretty much rocked Next Door into closing temporarily… turned Campus Center into a raging concert hall… and returned to make New Year’s amazing.

Now, fresh off the heels of their latest EP release, dedicated to Hawaii, they’re taking the show all over the islands. Along for the ride are Bambu and Creed Chameleon.

The first show of the OOF! Tour takes place TONIGHT at The Loft. The show is 18+, so definitely it’s safe to bring those who weren’t able to get into the legendary Next Door shows. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are the door, Groove Tickets, or the BAMP website.

    Rock Shop

Rock Shop, Chinatown’s most fashionable clothes sale/swap, is moving locations to the always stylish Loft.

Designers will be on hand, showing off the latest on what’s dope now and what will be dope two months from now.  Also, part of the Rock Shop is the always fun SWAP SHOP, where you can get new stuff just by trading stuff you probably don’t want anymore.  Like the tagline says, someone’s trash might be your treasure.

Besides all the fashion buying fun, there will also be a fashion show, artwork (it IS First Friday, BTW), and music from Swampa ZZ and DJ Toki.

This all goes down this First Friday from 4-9pm at the Loft (115 N. Hotel St.)

FOr more info, check out The Loft Website.
