lightsleepers Pop-Up shop Grand Opening

So, it’s been a few years (two, to be exact) since the last lightsleepers pop-up shop went down at Exclusive on Kapiolani. This year, they’ve stepped it up and will be holding down shop at Split Obsession Ala Moana.

Not only will they be providing the usual lightsleepers fare, but they’ll come correct with some exclusives ONLY for the pop-up: SIX new shirt colorways and designs, including the FIRST lightsleepers womens shirt. There will also be a limited edition pillow, a new “severed panda head” from angry woebots x Silent Stage, a TYO Toys x KATCH 1 toy truck (done up in the only way KATCH knows how…) and a new tote bag. Throw on some new stickers and buttons ad you have yourself the makings of your Christmas list killer.

The event itself will feature lightsleepers Vezzen, Observ, Olivertwist, and KTC holding down the DJ duties, alongside free drinks from Waialua Soda Works.

This FREE all ages event goes down this Saturday night from 5pm-9pm at Split Obsession Ala Moana, second floor, next to Neiman Marcus.

split obsession 4th anniversary

Can you believe it’s been FOUR YEARS since me and Lofa first stepped foot into Split Obsession Koko Marina and met up with Bruce and Erica for the first time?

Yeah, I can’t believe it either. And congrats to those two for making it happen for four years. atypicalLIVING has been with the Split Obsession crew since day one and I couldn’t be happier reporting that their Four Year anniversary is this weekend.

There will be two events marking the occasion: first, the Koko Marina store will be holding a special all weekend long 15% off sale. Also, spend $50 and get a Split Obsession tee for only $10.

The second event is Friday night only, from 7-9pm at Split Obsession’s Ala Moana location. 15% off the store from 7-9pm and free cake and champagne. Can’t knock that.

angry woebots AP Dunny for the 2Tone series

SURPRISE! I guess it’s no big secret that the 2Tone Dunny series is coming out tomorrow.

What IS a surprise is that angry woebots has 25 artist proofs that he signed and resealed back in the original box. These are one of a kind AP editions that any collector would be happy to have around.

A few will be available to Hawaii heads when woes does a special signing/ meet and greet at Split Obsession Ala Moana tonight from 630pm-9pm. The rest go on sale on the Army of Snipers blog (http://armyofsnipers.blogspot.com). These will go for $125.

The Dunny 2Tone series releases to select Kid Robot retailers tomorrow. For Hawaii heads, that means Split Obsession and Prototype.

Kid Robot x angry woebots: Luck on a Spear.

So, this happened yesterday…

RUMOR HAS IT, Kid Robot will be dropping a new series called the 2Tone series. This series has caused such a ruckus that even the official Kid Robot board is neither confirming nor denying that the set is releasing. Even the artists are getting on board by posting teaser photos… Huck Gee dropped a subtle hint and now angry woebots just dropped this not so subtle hint. Panda with a bamboo stick holding a koi fish? REEEE-DICULOUS.

So, absolutely NO ONE KNOWS if this is dropping.

What I DO know is that angry woebots will be up in the spot at Split Obsession Ala Moana this Thursday from 6:30-9pm selling his newest gear and there is a special toy release. This may or may not involve the image above, but… you never know.

La’akea Designs Trunk Show at split obsession Ala Moana

split obsession welcomes Sunset Beach designer Natasha Briley and her La’akea Designs as part of their event for Fashion’s Night Out. bailey will be bringing her beach-inspired designs to split obsession’s Ala Moana location. Besides checking out the great jewelry and unique designs, each La’akea purchase of $50 or more receive a free necklace. It’s win-win all around.

Cloth Hawaii Trunk Show at Split Obsession

Local design house CLOTH will be holding their first ever trunk show at Split Obsession Ala Moana this Saturday. The all new CLOTH in-house label consists of designs constructed from repurposed vintage textiles. Because of it’s limited quantities, the brand is able to maintain the same vintage quality of the original fabrics while bringing a modern edge to them.

Besides the trunk show, CLOTH will also be designing the windows of Split Obsession for the show. While the final results won’t be displayed until right before the show, the designers promise that it will be amazing.

It’s that time of year again…

The 2010 release of the official DUNNY series is upon us and Split Obsession is offering a release party for vinyl heads out there.

Not only will they have the Dunny series for sale, but they’ll also have special Dunny button packs for purchases of 4 Dunny boxes or more. They have also worked a deal with Kid Robot to have the special Sket-One Relish Bottle Dunny available for those that purchase a case.
