Kero One / Dirty Scientifix / Ohmega Watts in Seattle

    3347445939_ef42c3fc76_o

Oh SNAP! Jake the Snake is back at it again.

This time, the genuineHI fam is making moves in the Upper Left, bringing up Bay Area favorite Kero One, along with Dirty Scientifix and Ohmega Watts to the Nectar Lounge.

Kero One killed it the last time he was in Hawaii, so there’s no doubt that the heat from the show would warm up a pretty cold Pacific Northwest.

Seattle heads, go check this show out, it’s definitely gonna be talked about tomorrow.  Doors open at 9pm, for the 21+ crowd & tickets are $10 at the door, $8 for advance.

You can scoop up your tix here.

For more info, check out genuineHI. Big ups to Jake and for all he’s doing to bring positivity to the Northwest, Hawaii, and beyond.

    genuineHI: reloaded

    Just when you thought…

So, I’m checking my email the other day when I run across this message saying to check out genuineHI.com

At first, I thought this was some sick joke.  Jake is in Seattle getting his engineer on and has been way too busy to rock out on some promotions steez.

But, lo and behold, the site is BACK and better than ever.

Now, besides the promotions aspect, Jake is taking to event reporting in the Upper Left, announcing albums and shows for the greater Seattle area.

genuineHI and atypicalLIVING has always been online brothers in a sense: we started up around the same time, blew up around the same time, and went into totally different directions at the same time (Jake moving to Seattle and me coordinating/curating art shows).

But, I’m personally glad to see the return of a long lost brother to the fold.  And the VERY intriguing “we’re planning events in Seattle and Hawaii” line in the EVENTS section is just whetting the appetite to see what Jake the Snake got up his sleeves.

Welcome back, brother, we’ve missed you on the scene.

    wr

After constant pressure to redo this design, Jason from Flying Coffin relents and reprints the classic 3M Brainz Crew.  Get this while you can because 1) you don’t know when’s the next time you can get your hands on this; and 2) this is limited to 25 pieces.

So, go get it while you can on the Flying Coffin online store.

Flying Coffin x Manik x GOODS boards

    wr

    wr-1

    wr-2

Jason and the Flying Coffin crew are celebrating their 2nd Anniversary.  Unfortunately, that anniversary was 6 months ago. So, to make it up, the Flying Coffin crew has teamed up with two of Seattle’s finest: Manik Skateboards and GOODS.

The collaborative effort resulted in the five deck set above, featuring all the graphics form the first two years of Flying Coffin.  Some of the decks will sell as sets, the others individually.

Also, since there’s no good collabo without a shirt, there’s a limited edition of 45 shirts available for this collabo.  10 can be scooped up at GOODS, the other 35 on the Flying Coffin website.

The decks are going out to stockists worldwide this week, so look for them there, but if you’re particularly anxious, you can get both the shirts and the deck set at the Flying Coffin website.

NEW! Flying Coffin “Pyramids” New Era

Jason and the Flying Coffin crew has just dropped this beauty of a New Era at both GOODS in Seattle and on the Flying Coffin website.

Modeled here by Rob and Mary, the Aloha Terrorists (and two of the dopest people I met in Seattle)… the New Eras feature the Pyramids FC logo on the front, an ill satin lining on the inside and the two eyes out on the back.  This is a hot hat to match the hot weather as of late.

You can scoop these up in person at GOODS, Kicks/HI, Fitted Hawaii, and other fine retailers.  BUT! If you can’t wait for that, there is a limited amount (less than a dozen) available on the Flying Coffin website.  But, those are going fast, so hit it up wiht the quickness.

Blue Scholars at UH Campus Center

Coming off an amazing performance at Next Door, Blue Scholars have one more special surprise: an all ages show this Monday.

A quick announcement was given by Geologic at the tail end of the Blue Scholars concert and Jake reiterated the time for everyone.

What we do know is that the concert is this Monday night, 6pm at the UH Campus Center.  No other details were given, other than that. Perfect Median, NoMasterBacks, AudibleLabRats, Creed Chameleon and DJ Packo will be rockin the spot with Geologic and Sabzi.

We don’t know how much the show will cost, but after Saturday’s performance, I would gladly pay whatever it takes to see them again. [Ed note – Tickets are $10 at the door]

So, if you missed out on Saturday’s show, you’re underage and couldn’t see them at Next Door, or you got the itch to see them one more time, check them out Monday night at the UH Campus Center.

For more, check out genuineHI.com or Blue Scholars.

    picture-1.png

Hawaii-born and Seattle-bred, the Flying Coffin collective is back with a vengeance with a brand new website and a a new collection of shirts for the Spring.  The site design is fresh and is definitely a departure from the sparce weblog they were running for a minute now.

The shirts are fresh too, with the illest definitely being that “Terrorism is the New Communism” joint.

Check out the new shirts below the break.
