    NEW! RZone “Juana” slip-ons

Picture 1Always expanding her reach as an artist, RZone has just designed a piece of art designed to go on your feet.

The silhouette is based of some very comfy looking Keds slip-on kicks, but with a slight difference: the art work surrounding the entire shoe.

The artwork is 100% new stuff from RZone, from the “Little Sugar” series of paintings.

The shoe features a brown color scheme with an RZone tag on the heel side of the instep. Definitely a good look with a skirt, some shorts, or skinny jeans.

This is available only through RZone’s new online store via Zazzle.

atypicalLIVING Covers… groundUP Modeling Agency Launch

    groundUP 3

It’s been a while since the last atypicalLIVING Covers… so I guess now is a good time to pull it up. Look for a lot of these, as I’m looking to cover a bunch of stuff this Summer.

First up: last Friday’s launch party for the groundUP Modeling Agency. Yes, nBOSS has expanded his art empire into the fashion world. Which is not all that surprising, since there were models on the groundUP roster since the very beginning. Also, the fashion show has been an integral part of the groundUP experience since the Courtyard days.

So, it was a natural progression (and groundUP’s growing presence) that the Pirates show off some of their more beautiful First Mates.

This went down at the Cupola Theatre in the Honolulu Design Center, which is the epicenter of downtown Honolulu’s art and fashion world. Classy, elegant, upscale, everything that a modeling agency needs. There has to be tons of coverage around, but you know that I get those interesting in the moment shots.

SO, here’s my coverage of the event and RZone’s shots from the live photoshoot.

For more info, check out the movement.

    Rzone’s First Wall Painting

groundUP’s own resident Venezuelan, RZone, will be hosting her first ever solo art show and gigantic wall painting at Ong King.  You may have remembered that RZone was part of the last First Firday event at Ong King, the 50-50 art show.  Well, she’s on the solo tip now and is ready to amaze with her blend of paint, photos, digital illustration, and high energy personality.

This Friday IS First Friday, so, make this part of your art walk.  The show goes down this Friday night, starting at 5pm at the Ong King Gallery at the beginning of North King Street.  If that doesn’t get you more hyped, check out the promo video after the break.

    TNM_DEC_Front_Low

2007 has seen The Next Movement take off and do amazing things in the Chinatown arts and fashion scene. Celebrate the end of an amazing year with the December edition of The Next Movement, this time emanating from thrityninehotel this Saturday night.

This month’s live performance is provided by The Deadbeats, providing live hip-hop instrumentation to the rhymes of Harumi The Hymn and Intrepid. The fashion show will showcase ‘Maica by local designer JJ Enos, the fashion of Ron S. Kayano and boutique Split Obsession. Art will be provided by Rzone, Venezuela’s gift to Hawaii’s art scene. Artwork will be up for display and will also be available for purchase.

DJ Mr. Nick and Sifu “Jive” Walker will be manning the wheels of steel all night.

This looks to be an amazing event, as The Next Movement closes out 2007 in style.
