    NEW! Pacquiao shirts at Kicks/HI

In preparation for the big Pay-Per-View title defense against Joshua Clottey, Nike has just released a new set of shirt inspired by Manny Pacquiao.

The PacMan is featured on four new shirts.  One shirt features the PacMan Knows slogan that was popularized during the Miguel Cotto fight and that correspond with the PacMan Nike Trainer 1 that recently came out.  Another features the “Give Us This Day” graphic that ran on Manny’s site during the Oscar De La Hoya fight.  There’s also an old fashioned fight hype poster, touting all of Pacquiao’s accomplishments in the ring. Finally, the MP logo is done up in gold foil, matching up with the gold coloring on most of Pacquiao’s gear.

These shirts will be going quickly, so you want to make sure you snag one.

These are available at the Makaloa Kicks/HI starting today. For more info, check out http://www.kickshawaii.com

    The Nike+ Human Race

This Saturday, the entire Nike+ community will join together and their distance logged that day will be counted and used to benefit one of three different charities: Lance Armstrong’s LIVEstrong Foundation, ninemillion.org, the United Nation’s refugee agency, or the World Wildlife Fund.

This is also an event where Nike has sponsored several city races worldwide, where a majority of the miles will be tabulated.  If you happen to be living in one of those cities, it’s highly encouraged to check out the city race.

Don’t live near one of the city races? Not to worry, as those equipped with Nike+ sensors on their shoes and iPods can participate and have their miles logged in during the day.

This event is free to join and is going to benefit one of three great causes.  Just sign up for the Human Race 10K before tomorrow at the Nike+ website.

While you’re there, you can read up on who people will be running on Saturday, what the causes are doing to help support this event, and also, you can join the country challenge, as runners will represent their home contry and race to see who can rack up the most distance.

It’s a fun event that gets you out of the house, on your feet, and benefitting a worthy cause.  So, go out there, sign up, and run around for a bit.  Every step counts.

Nike Reuse-a-shoe program today at Niketown Honolulu

Nike’s Reuse-a shoe is an initiative that turns old, worn-out shoes into a material called Nike Grind.  Nike Grind is then used by organizations to create playground courts and play areas.

The Reuse-a-shoe collection will be happening today at Niketown Honolulu.  Just look for the gigantic pile of shoes out in front.  If you need to know more about it you can check out the Reuse-a-shoe website.

And, it was just Earth Day as well, so keep the spirit going by rocking out on recycling last year’s Dunks.

    Nike Air Flight Windmill

With the change in the calendar, that also means that the NBA season is in full swing. That also means that the Nike basketball athletes are flipping their kicks to the mid-season replacements.

So, what’s the big deal behind this shoe?

Well, this one was designed by Jason “AlphaProject” Petrie, who hooked atypicalLIVING up with the first ever cuneiforms article back in 2005 and a tour of the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton. So, we always got love for our homies that are doing their thing.

As far as the shoe goes, this shoe is part of the HyperFlight family of sneakers and, besides the funky strap system, features a zoom air pocket riding shotgun in the heel.

The shoe is hot and definitely looks like its built for your small, quick guards, ala Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, or Tony Parker.

Look for these to hit store shelves this month, with the Player Exclusive editions hitting the House of Hoops on 1/19.

    P-Rod 2 white/engine

    P-Rod 2

    flick: in4mation

I’ve always been a fan of the NIke SB line, even if their video supposedly wasn’t that great.

I’ve also been a big fan of P-Rod aka Paul Rodriguez.  And yes, his dad is the famous comedian.  The dude has nice style and all of his kicks have been on point.  From the first NIke jumpoff (the Cinco De Mayos Dunks) to the current version of the P-ROD, it’s been fire.

This one is no exception.  Officially the color scheme is white/engine, but I call this set up FIRE.  Very dope, indeed.

Look for these to drop at your favorite shop in the next month or so.  For the Hawaii, heads, check these at either Kicks/HI, apb, or in4mation.
