So, this hip-hop/reggae mashup sack of fun should be an interesting endeavor this Friday night.

Also, this is the official after party for the homie Aaron Yoshino‘s “The End is NEAR” photo exhibit, so you know this has to be hella good.

The concert is this Friday night at the Loft, doors open at 8pm for those 21+.  $10 at the door gets you in & a visit to this site will get you a Red Stripe from the Myopenbar folks.

The End is NEAR – the work of Aaron K. Yoshino

Swing by the in4mation Boardshop on the second floor of Ward Warehouse this Friday nght for a special art event that holds personal meaning for us here at atypicalLIVING.

Aaron Yoshino aka Honozooloo aka the photographer you see darn near everywhere is holding a solo photo show, displaying work that you probably haven’t seen yet.  I got a little preview of what he had planned for the show and I, for one, am mad excited for it.  This is gonna display the artistry of the photographer and the grittiness of the new Chinatown.  The flyer photo says a lot, but at the same time, says nothing to which the show will be all about.  This is gonna be epic, and the only way to experience it is to get to the in4mation Boardshop this Friday night.

If you still need convincing, the fine folks at Honolulu Myopenbar will be providing FREE Red Stripe and Sake.  I seriously don’t know what else they can do to convince you to go to this show.

“The End is Near” goes down this Friday night from 6-9pm at the in4mation Boardshop, on the second floor of the Ward Warehouse.  Also, if you’re still in the partying mood, the afterparty for the show, featuring Lafa Taylor, will go down at the Loft from 9pm-2am.

Elevaters LIVE at the Loft this Friday

MyOpenBar, along with the fine folks at the Loft and the Queen of the Bloggies, superCW, bring you elevaters LIVE at the Loft this Friday.  This jazz/hip-hop/rock/soul outfit from LA will be joined along with the Deadbeats, Hawaii’s own jazz/hip-hop/rock/soul outfit and the always entertaining Dj Kittylee.

The fun begins super early at 5PM with an art show featuring live art from angry woebots.

The live music kicks off at 10pm.

This show is 21+, so keep the kids at home.  If you don’t know where the Loft is by now, apparently, you haven’t followed the site close enough.  But, as a refresher, it’s at 115 Hotel St., right above the old Sankyu Bakery.  Enter the bakery, head up the stairs.  Easy Peasy.

So, to get you in the mood for the show, here’s a couple elevaters songs to get familiar with.

MyOpenBar present: Chinatown Straightup

The MyOpenBar crew has been making moves, hooking you up with the ill party spots.  This time, they’ll be in the mix as the promoters for this special event, Chinatown Straightup.

This event will feature Sailor Jerry Rum drink specials all night (special meaning FREE, while supplies last), DJ Kitty Chow from the Cherry Blossom Caberet (more than likely performing with clothes on) spinning funk and old school, DJ ESKAE with the guaranteed booty shakers, and the Deadbeats with that jazzy dance funk the kids are into and the power of Harumi’s sweater vest.

This all goes down this Saturday night at the Loft.

The party starts at 9pm and is FREE is you RSVP at the site.
