A year ago, the world lost a true legend: The Godfather of Soul, James Brown.
Without Mr. Brown, a lot of careers would cease to exist because of his body of work. Shoot, a whole DJ industry would not exist without James Brown. After his passing last year, a lot people have tried to step up and uphold the standard that James brown set. Sadly, many may try, but no one can get to that level. But, thanks to his eternal presence in his music, he will continue to motivate and inspire another generation.
As those that were able to experience the man while he was still here, we should take a moment out of our busy lives to pay tribute to a true pioneer of urban music and style.
DJs Eskae and Jahson the 45 Revolver will honor the life and memory of James Brown with a special event at Jazz Minds Cafe. They’ll be spinning all music by and inspired by the Godfather of Soul. Also, they’ll be bringing the sex machine to life with Justin James on the drums and Okto Hekion on the visual accompaniment.
To attend the Christmas Eve celebration, you must email steve@djeskae.com to RSVP because seating is limited.
