    Soul Clap feat. DJ Rhettmatic

    soul clap

It’s the last week of the month, so you know what that means… this Friday marks the return of your favorite Chinatown monthly: Soul Clap.

This time it’s a bit more special, with special guest DJ Rhettmatic of the World Famous Beat Junkies throwing down a special set.

Of course, the usual menu of Jami, Compose, SSSolution & Eskae will be all up in the mix, keeping the floor rocking and your feet dancing the entire night. This one is guaranteed to be talked about for the rest of the summer. So don’t lie about being there, be there and experience it for yourself.

This party is for those of age, so keep the youngins at home. It’s $5 at the door with an RSVP at DJ Eskae dot com.

This all goes down at thirtyninehotel.  Doors open at 10pm and keeps it going until 2am, so check this out after you hit up UNDIVIDED earlier in the day.

    DJ Benzi at Acid Wash

Now, Chinatown’s nightlife scene is back to normal.

Hotel Street’s favorite movie house/dance club Next Door is bringing the 80s back with a twist.  Acid Wash, the artsy hipster’s favorite hangout, is back in effect this Wednesday night with Mr. Get Right himself, DJ BENZI, rocking the spot with members of the Nocturnal Sound Krew and Super Handsome Sound: Eskae, Jami, and Delve1der.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will help support the Island Independent Film Festival.

Acid Wash goes down this Wednesday at Next Door, 43 Hotel St.  Email glist@myneighborsnextdoor.com to gain entrance before 11pm.

Kid Cudi x TempoValley x NSK @ next door

    021408.jpg

In celebration of Singles Awareness Day, Next Door will be holding a very special concert event for all the outgoing soloists on February 14th.  The event will be headlined by Fools Gold recording artist Kid Cudi, he of that infectious “Day N Nite” song.

Also performing that night will be the homegrown freestyle soul of Tempo Valley.  And, what kind of Next Door party would it be if the Bird Gang wasn’t involved?  Compose and Jami will be repping NSK to the fullest that night.

The party goes down this Thursday night, starting at 9pm.  So, if you’re single and in need of something to do (other than mope), definitely check this out.  If you’re with someone, make sure they’re cool with you cutting dinner (or whatever else you got planned) short for this one.  Either way, this is gonna be a fun night.  And who knows?  Maybe you’ll meet someone there.

The event is 18+, so even that cute barely under-21 girl you’ve been talking to can get in.  If she’s nowhere close to being 21, well, then… Chris Hansen would like to have a word with you outside shortly. $10 gets you in, but it’s up to you to decide how much to bring for the bar.

For more info on Kid Cudi, check out his homepage.

Also, you can check out the EP for Day N Nite on iTunes.

Soul Clap – exclusive Grand Opening Party

This month’s edition of Soul Clap has a special feeling behind it, a feeling of new beginnings. Not only does it mark the first Soul Clap of 2008, but it also doubles as the grand opening party for exclusive.

The usual suspects will be there (Compose, Jami, Eskae), along with visuals from Okto Hekion. For those that don’t know, exclusive is Hawaii’s first all-female streetwear boutique, offering such brands as WeSC, Upper Playground, Fafi, and Tripp NYC. It’s for the ladies, by the ladies.

The flyer also doubles as a coupon, allowing you to get 20% off one item during your next visit.

Soul Clap, as always, originates out of thirtyninehotel during the last Friday of every month. The party starts at 9pm and keeps rockin until 2am. For more info and details on how to get on the guest list, check out ESKAE’s website and exclusive’s online spot.
