Jabbawockeez at the Blaisdell Concert Hall

Prime Productions and Party Down Productions present America’s Best Dance Crew winners Jabbawockeez in a dance concert to heat up your already hot Summer night.

Along with the men in masks, there’s also gonna be the HI RISE dance competition and the Monarchy crew B-Boy battle.  The floor will be burning up with the heat of dope moves and hot competition.  In addition to the battles, there’s performances by Krystilez, Big Mox, Nippon Da Mic, NixPac, Hypersquad, and of course, the Jabbawockeez.

The event goes down tomorrow (Thursday) at 6pm at the Blaisdell Center Concert Hall.

With both the Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern making appearances in the Islands the past couple of weeks, I’m looking for Hawaii’s dance scene to be on the come up real soon.

    Kaba Modern in Hawaii

After an amazing show to close out the 50th State Fair last weekend, Kaba Modern is going to be found at a couple of events this weekend.

First up on Saturday is a couple of Dance Workshops at the University of Hawaii Athletic Complex (Studio 2).  They’ll be teaching a beginner/intermediate class at 12pm and an advanced class at 2pm.  Ben Chung of the Jabbawockeez will be teaching a class at 4pm as well.  Tickets for the workshops are available at all dance studios and at Razor Concepts in Pearlridge.

That night, Kaba Modern can be found at Chai’s Island Bistro for a special edition of Rice Cracker.  That event is 21+, so be ready to show on the dance floor.

Then, on Sunday, both Kaba Modern and Ben Chung will join dancers from Hypersquad, 24/VII, Studio 808, and Honolulu Dance Studio in a contemporary dance concert at Castle High’s Ronald E. Bright Theatre.  The concert begins at 5pm, with the doors opening 30 minutes prior.  Tickets for the concert are available at Razor Concepts and the participating dance studios.  Tickets will also be available at the theatre’s box office  two hours prior to the show.

So, if you got a jonesing for some dope dancing, this is your weekend.
