    groundUP Agency Launch Party

    Yes, the long-awaited debut of th groundUP Agency is happening this Friday night at the Honolulu Design Center.

    The usual groundUP antics will be going down: music from DJs and performers – including the release of Elephant Armada’s album, a live art mural from the groundUP collective, a photography exhibit featuring Hawaii’s top photographers and a live photoshoot with RZone.

    But, the real big deal is the unleashing of the modeling agency on Hawaii, culminating in the groundUP Fashion Show, with fashions from MB Inc.

    This all goes down this Friday night at the Honolulu Design Center from 8pm-2am. $10 gets you through the door. This is a 21+ event, so keep the kids at home for this one.

    Fashionista’s Market Christmas Sale 

    Fashionista’s Market, the shopping event that those in the know only know about, will be holding their special Christmas Sale this Saturday and Sunday.  There’s tons of items available for $10, and there’s also a Summer Clearance sale, where things are being sold for 50%-60% off.  That’s amazingly insane.

    The sale goes down this Saturday and Sunday at the Honolulu Design Center.  Doors open at 9am and stay open until 3pm.  There’s gonna be tons of people there, so be prepared for the parking situation, which is free on the street, or you can valet inside the Design Center parking lot.  Plan accordingly and shop excellently.

    groundUP presents: Bound For Greatness 

    Seriously, as if I need to put any copy below the flyer.

    You already know the deals, but for those that don’t… here’s the situation:

    Noa and his merry band of groundUP Pirates present one of the final art shows of 2008 with BOUND FOR GREATNESS.  This event brings together pirates of all media in one place, sharing what they love to Hawaii’s very appreciative art audience.

    The usual suspects will be in attendance, with the expansive groundUP roster of artists: painters, illustrators, photographers, models, fashion designers, musicians, producers, DJs, and poets, providing aural and visual stimulation.

    To try and list everyone on the flyer would be silly, so just read the flyer and check out al the dopeness that’s gonna be produced during the event.

    One important thing to note is that there wil be new groundUP t-shirts available, so make sure you get up on it and score yourself a piece of the biggest collective of artists in Hawaii.

    Noa is the mastermind behind everything groundUP and, thanks to his tireless efforts, this one promises to be another epic show and another arrow in the ever-growing quivver of amazing groundUP art shows.

    BOUND FOR GREATNESS is set to go down this Saturday night at the Honolulu Design Center.  $7 gets you through the door, $5 if you wear a skirt, collared shirt or groundUP shirt.  This all ages event starts at 8pm and is slated to go until midnight.  Free parking is available in the Honolulu Design Center.

    Music For the Heart, Autism Foundation fundraiser 

    This Friday night will mark a special event going down at the Cupola Room at the Honolulu Design Center.

    Music For The Heart, a foundation that champions the cause of musical therapy for children affected by Autism, will be holding a special fundraiser for their foundation, featuring the music of Tempo Valley.  Also at the event will be food and drink provided by the Amuse wine bar and Stage restaurant located adjacent to the Cupola Room.

    So, swing by the Cupola Room this Friday night and check out an entertaining night of music, food, wine, and silent auctions.

    groundUP Pirates present FLASH! 

    The groundUP Pirates are back, and in a big way, with FLASH! – a fashion show / photography exhibition going down this Friday night at the Honolulu Design Center.

    Giving love to the photographers, FLASH! will highlight the dopest work from Hawaii’s elite photography talent: Willy banlund, Harold Julian, Rafael Swit, Peter Helenius, Brooke Dombroski, Carolyn Mirante, Aaron Eskaran, Kristofor Gelert, and Luke Takayama.

    Along with the photographers taking center stage, there is also a fashion show going on, featuring pieces from Exclusive Hawaii, Cassandra Rull, and The Butik.

    Finally, what groundUP event would be complete without music?  The sound selectors include Rhyme the Old Man, Elephant Armada, Sentric, DeeNiri, and DJs Oliver Twist and Liger with the IMON Factor.

    FLASH! goes down this Friday night at the Honolulu Design Center (1250 Kapiolani).  $5 will get you through the doors, which open at 8pm and is open to all ages.

    groundUP China Earthquake Relief Fundraiser 

    The groundUP Pirates are holding a benefit fundraiser for the victims of the China Earthquake in May. This is a special event, featuring a night of music, live painting, and art displays. Besides the susual assortment of groundUP Pirates doing their thing, there will be musical performances from Detego, Kavet The Catalyst, Bless’DChil, Rhyme the Old Man, and Hope Mayo. DJ Oliver Twist will be rocking the twin 1200s all night long.

    As is traditional with all groundUP shows, there will also be a live mural featuring KOAK, Eukarezt, Pancho Abalos, RZone, angry woebots, Aaron Eskaran, and Shaun Castro.

    This special event goes down this Saturday night, June 7th, from 7pm-11pm at the new Honolulu Design Center in the Cupola Theatre.  it’s $5 to get in and parking will be validated, so no praying to God for street parking that night.
