Everyone’s been wondering what’s been going on with Kuhao Zane, the head creative and driving forcer behind The Cutlery and Ethnic Creative.

Well, Mr. Zane has been taking a well deserved vacation, resting up and recharging the creative juices for the triumphant return of The Cutlery in 2010.

But, as a little teaser to that, and to rep the family business, Kuhao did a little collabo piece with his dad – Aloha Shirt maker Sig Zane.

This piece, based off the limited edition Puumanawale’a shirt and pattern, is currently residing in the window of Sig Zane Designs in Hilo.

To get your hands on the limited edition shirts, you can get them directly from the Sig Zane online shop.

The shirts are available in black/ice grey, black/aqua, or black/cactus.

The Cutlery Mid-Summer Sale

Time to get your Summer fit game tight.  July is tomorrow and, if your shirt game isn’t on point, then you need to get it going or you’re gonna end up being that dude/chick with the busted looking shirt at the barbecue or the beach party.

Fifty/Fifty Skate/Surf Art Collective Show

The fifty/fifty collective out of Hilo will be holding a special collective show this First Friday at Ong King. The show, which blends the worlds of skating, surfing, and art, will feature artists from alla round Hawaii, including groundUP’s own Rzone, among others.

The show is being held as a benefit for the new Pahoa Skatepark.

Props to all the sponsors on the flier, as they know the true creative expression found in the three worlds.

Revo 2.0 Artshow in Hilo

The Revo series of art shows makes it’s debut in Hilo tonight with a special art show featuring some of Hawaii’s top artists. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Grace of God orphanage in Malawai, Africa.

Entry is $5 and it goes to a good cause. So, make the effort and check out the show. Plus, since you’re in town, you can hit up The Cutlery’s one-year anniversary throwdown the next night. There, atypicalLIVING just made your weekend, people of Hilo. Live it up, it’s the last weekend of 2007.

The Cutlery One Year Anniversary

The Cutlery is celebrating it’s first year of Looking Sharp with a special anniversary party and giveaway this Saturday night on Mamo St. in Hilo.

First, the raffle is for a custom engraved Tiffany & Co. I.D. Pendant. The one of a kind dog tag has the Cutlery C on the frontside and will definitely be the envy of all those who gaze upon it’s awesomeness.

To enter the raffle, just spend $50 at the Cutlery and you will be entered to win. The Winner must be present when the raffle is pulled during the party.

Speaking of, the anniversary party will take place right in front of the Cutlery. There’s going to be food, drinks, music, and of course, the drawing for the Tiffany & Co. pendant, plus tons of other dope giveaways.
