    Overdrive 1.0

Join us this Saturday as atypicalLIVING, alongside the lightsleepers and Grace Bible Church Pearlside present OVERDRIVE 1.0

This artshow/carshow/BBoy jam is a fundraiser for the GBCP Outreach Missions team.  There are tons of artists displaying work, alongside a live art display featuring Dodge, Eukarezt, RZone, and Shaun Castro.  There will also be a special custom Munny auction.

There will also be live music, a car show outside the venue and a 1 on 1 freestyle and team bboy battles.  This event is scheduled to be jam packed, so get there early so you don’t miss a thing.

This all goes down this Saturday afternoon from 4pm-8pm at Momilani Elementary in Pearl City.  $7 gets you in the door and it’s open to all ages.

Nick Vujicic: Without Limbs, Without Limits

    home_r1_c1

    hope

This picture is actually an invitation. An invitation for you to check out this amazing man and his inspirational story.  You think you got it rough, Nick Vujicic was born without limbs.

But, instead of wallowing in self-pity and letting that discourage him, he decided to change the world. So, after visiting 19 countries and countless people, he’s decided to make a stop over in Hawaii for a special morning of services.  This Sunday morning, March 15, 2009, Nick Vujicic will be speaking at Grace Bible Church Pearlside at Leeward Community College Theater for three services: 7:30am, 9am, & 1045am.  He’ll share his inspirational story, his life-changing moments, and hopefully inspire you in the process.  I implore any God-fearing person to check this out.

If you’re NOT a Christian, or are seeking a reason to go to church, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to check this out.  Even if you think this is a freakshow and want to see what the big deal is… if that’s what it takes to get you to go, then make that a reason to check it out.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it due to not being able to get off from work, but if you can make it, then by all means, you have three chances.  Make this year the year you make a difference by seeing a man that hasn’t made ANY excuses in his life.

Inertia 5: All For One this Saturday

This Saturday marks the next big event for Hawaii’s Hip-Hop scene. It’s the return of Inertia at Momilani Elementary. This one is a benefit for Grace Bible Church Youth Ministries. There’s gonna be both 1-on-1 and crew B-Boy/B-Girl battles as well as live painting and music provided by DJs Observ, Revise, Skid, Jedi, Nomadd, and the chief lightsleeper Kavet the Catalyst.

Also, Inertia also serves as the official birthday party of the 5th element of hip-hop, the lightsleepers and atypicalLIVING’s own Lofa. And he’s gonna celebrate by throwing an epic blackbook battle. So, swing by, wish him a Happy Birthday and get him something nice, like a toy of some sort or some 3XL shirts or maybe a MacBook, so he can get his online game back up and running full speed.

Inertia goes down this Saturday afternoon from Noon to 5pm at Momilani Elementary in Pearl City. $5 gets you in the venue and more will get you food and whatnot throughout the event.

Props to all the sponsors for throwing down a sick event for all the youth of Hawaii to get some exposure and for the youth of developing countries to get a chance to be ministered by the big-hearted people of the GBC Youth Ministry.

For more info on this, check out the lightsleepers homepage.
