This Friday marks the opening of Girl Fest, the festival celebrating the creaitvity and spirit of the double X chromosome.

Girl Fest kicks off with a special concert by many of Hawaii’s dopest female (and female supporting) artists, including Jennifer Johns, Red Summer, Issil Park, DJ Kee, Define, Badenyaa, and Living Proof.

This just kicks off the entire week on a positive note.  The next week will be sprinkled with tons of movies, concerts, workshops, and even a roller derby battle on Sunday in Hawaii Kai.

The Opening Night concert goes down at 8PM this Friday night at the Honolulu Design Center, on the corner of Kapiolani and Piikoi.  The party is 21+, so keep the younguns at home for this one.  All proceeds for the evening go to the prevention of violence against women.  So, make your way out this First Friday to the the Design Center for an amazing night of theatre, spoken word, and music.
