Fashionista’s First Friday: The Anniversary Edition

Last year, October’s First Friday was the start of something amazing: The Fashionista’s Market Boutique. The venue, in the heart of Chinatown, finally offered a stable location for fashionista’s to get their wares on a regular basis.

Now, one year later, it’s time to celebrate, in the only way they know how.

The night features new pieces from Joy Graham and her jewelry line, Pure Joy Adornments. Delicate and fashionable jewelry is the signature of this line, along with shells, semi-precious stones, sterling silver, and 14k Gold.

Also on had will be body painter Dr. Wiz and the Music of DJ Scott Stylez.

This all goes down this First Friday at the Fahsionista’s Market Boutique at the top of Bethel Street.

Stop Child Trafficking Now Honolulu Walk

This Saturday, Hawaii takes a stand by walking.

The Stop Child Trafficking Now Honolulu Walk goes down this Saturday morning at 7:30am at Fresh Cafe on Queen St.  This walk is a rally and a call to arms for those who are against the practice of child sex slavery. These walks have been held all around the country, as people take a stand against predators buying up our children.

The 2010 walks began in April and will continue throughout the month of October.  This weekend is Hawaii’s turn.  The doors of Fresh Cafe will open at 730am this Saturday for the walkers and the walk up Ward Avenue (now gaining notoriety as Hawaii’s new Red Light District) begins at 9am.

To register as a walker or to donate to the cause, click here.

For more info on Stop Child Trafficking Now, check out http://www.sctnow.org

Big ups to Melissa and Blaine Jasmin for championing the SCTNow cause in Hawaii.

The Blue Angels at Bayfest this weekend

This year, the annual Bayfest event at Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps Base has merged with the Kaneohe Bay Airshow to form the biggest Airshow event to date. Besides a great evening of performances headlined by Hawaii’s own Natural Vibrations, the main attraction will be the return of The Blue Angels, the United States Navy’s Demonstration Squadron. The team will be performing two shows this weekend during Bayfest.

On Sunday, the Blue Angels will perform again, this time with the Hot Day @ The Bay: Car, Bike, and Hot Rod show from 9am-5pm.

Along with all that, there will be a special Taste of Oahu food booths, highlighting local flavors and tons of activities for the kids.

This all goes down this Saturday and Sunday at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps Base. This is a free event, but definitely make the effort to carpool, as carpools with 4+ people will be offered priority parking at the venue.

    This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The Fitted Hawaii crew is releasing a special pack shouting out every side of the island. The Four Corners pack shouts out the North, West, East, and South sections of the islands with a graphic that goes up on the iconic North Face logo.

That’s three dope releases on the same day.

This all drops this Saturday at the Kona St. headquarters.  These pieces are hella limited, so make sure you get yours before they get got.

Kid Robot x angry woebots: Luck on a Spear.

    So, this happened yesterday…

RUMOR HAS IT, Kid Robot will be dropping a new series called the 2Tone series. This series has caused such a ruckus that even the official Kid Robot board is neither confirming nor denying that the set is releasing. Even the artists are getting on board by posting teaser photos… Huck Gee dropped a subtle hint and now angry woebots just dropped this not so subtle hint. Panda with a bamboo stick holding a koi fish? REEEE-DICULOUS.

So, absolutely NO ONE KNOWS if this is dropping.

What I DO know is that angry woebots will be up in the spot at Split Obsession Ala Moana this Thursday from 6:30-9pm selling his newest gear and there is a special toy release. This may or may not involve the image above, but… you never know.

Good luck to everyone trying to find this one, I know it’s gonna be crazy hunting.

For more info, check out http://www.armyofsnipers.blogspot.com/ // http://splitobsession.blogspot.com
