    atypicalLIVING Covers… BE@K is UP

This past Saturday night, street artist BE@K threw a solo art show within the confines of Prototype’s new Ala Moana shop.

To say this was an art show is an understatement. The prolific nature of BE@K was shown as there were pieces EVERYWHERE. The highlight being a glass case in the middle of the store with about 60-70 small pieces arranged throughout the case’s 4 shelves. Throw in some custom munny’s, a collabo with Freelance Clothing’s d.king, and a GRIP of pieces everywhere, this show was aiming for some “Most Pieces Shown At Once” title.

Check out some of the dopeness on the atypicalFLICKR.

To see the rest of the exhibit, swing by the Prototype Ala Moana shop, ground level, next to Cookie Corner, Makai Market, and Centerstage.

atypicalLIVING Covers… Shing02 at Next Door

Big UPS to the homie Lester for holding down atypicalLIVING at the Shing02 / Nujabes Tribute show. He took some event flicks and posted it up on his FLICKR account.

For those that missed the performances this weekend, Cabbit Media got some exclusive audio from the Next Door performance from this past Friday night. Props to Rid and Randi and the rest of the Cabbit Media crew for holding it down on the recording steez.

As always, if you enjoy this, definitely support the artist and buy some stuff, for reals.

    Download the tracks here.

    Black Star in Honolulu

One of the most anticipated if not THE most anticipated concert of the year… Black Star reunites in Hawaii.

You know the names… Mos Def. Talib Kweli. Seriously, do you need an explanation or reason to go to this? They rarely perform out (especially Mos) and even more rare is that they perform TOGETHER, so Hawaii is definitely in for a real treat. It’s safe to say that the Waterfront is gonna go OFF during this one.

Add into this Flip The Bird’s Tassho Pearce, Creed Chameleon, and the always awesome Goapele, and you have the makings for the end of Summer FINISHER.  Seriously, what better way to say aloha to Summer 2010 than to do it in style.

This all goes down this FRIDAY night at the Waterfront at Aloha Tower. Doors open at 5pm, show starts at 6pm.

A VERY limited amount of tickets remain for this one, so hit up http://www.bampproject.com to see what’s available.
