NEW! FItted Hawaii Glassy x Standing 8 tees

    This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This Tuesday’s Fitted Hawaii release takes a look at the awesomeness that is the natural beauty of Hawaii.

First up is the Glassy tee, featuring a scene depicting the perfect Hawaiian day: bright sun, clear skies, even clearer water, and the lush natural green of nature.  Ideal is an understatement.

The next tee up is called Standing 8, and comes with this Fitted logo, repeated in 8 color bands.  The colors represent each of the Hawaiian islands and is repeated on the Fitted crown on the back of the shirt.

Also, as a part of the Standing 8 release, there’s also a corresponding WOMEN’S version available, so the ladies get in on the love for this one, too.

These shirts are on that limited edition steez, so definitely make your way down to Fitted to get yours.

This releases today at the Kona St. headquarters.  For more info, check out http://www.fittedhawaii.com

NEW! Fitted Hawaii Pride Pack x Shady Palms x Hula Hands x Cuzzo’s

This is probably the most ambitious Fitted Hawaii release this year. Three shirts, three hats, all awesome.

First up, the hats: three PRIDE New Era hats: an all teal number with a tonal H; a black brim/white crown piece; and a black and gray piece with gray cotton brim, white H, black crown, and red button. All three of these pieces are limited to 30 pieces each, so get yours while you can.

The three shirts pay tribute to Honolulu City’s Red Light District with their take on three signs you’d see around the district. Think Fitted x GTA: Vice City.

Hula Hands is featured on a white shirt and has a graphic reminiscent of an old school pub. The Shady Palms shirt is on black and features signage that looks like a place to get away from the bump and grind everyday life, you know?

Finally, the Cuzzo’s shirt is a red number that pays tribute to the old school pool halls, where sharks will hustle you without a second glance.

All six pieces will be available this Saturday from the Kona St. headquarters. So, as always, get yours before it gets got.

For more info on the pieces, check out http://www.fittedhawaii.com

Spent the whole day mostly offline and I come back on to find this news. Hawaii Hip-Hop lost an icon today in Walter “High Chief XL” Saole.  The High Chief held it down for the OGs in the hip-hop scene, welcoming young cats, like myself, into the game and help integrate the newbies into the established scene.

I only got to chop it up with High Chief a few times, so my memories don’t run quite as deep as some others in Hawaii, but you definitely knew he was in the building at all times.

As a tribute to High Chief, atypicalLIVING will observe a day of silence. Livicated.

    APEX 2010

Freelance Clothing, in association with Mighty 4, presents APEX 2010, a Hip-Hop event to set the tone for the rest of Summer 2010. Featuring a bboy battle judged by Paulskee, Infinite, Skillroy, and Remedee, and all style competition (and those are always fun), an emcee battle, and live art, this is sure to be a winner of an event.  The winners of the battles not only get a cash prize, but also get their crew shirts done up properly by the Freelance Clothing crew.

Speaking of winners, there’s also going to be a silent auction featuring artwork from East3, B-03, Eukarezt, Shaun Castro, Pancho Abalos, and Janel Natividad.  All proceeds go to the Mighty 4 Foundation in Hawaii.

Throw into the mix that the ladies get hooked up with free makeovers, Mighty 4’s own DJ UNE rocking the beats all night, and special musical performances by Ill HIll Society, Jason Tom, Bless, Creed Chameleon, and the host of the event Mox?

Yeah, you know if you have to go to this one.

This all goes down this Saturday at Fresh Cafe on Queen St.  Event starts at 430pm and is open to all ages.  This event will fill up, so make sure you get your presale tickets at Sera’s Surf and Shore at Ala Moana, Limited Addiction in Kalihi, iKandy in Pearlridge, and Ecosystems in Waikele. Each $10 presale ticket comes with a limited-edition t-shirt.
