    Mighty 4 Arts Foundation Fundraiser

This Saturday is a special jam featuring all the big hitters of Hawaii Hip-Hop helping out one of America’s foremost Hip-Hop movements: Mighty 4.

This event is a special fundraiser to help Mighty 4 Hawaii reach Non-profit status to help progress Hip-Hop in the Islands.  This will features DJ Jus Jones, Celskii, and Skeme Richards rocking the beats all day long.  Hype 5-0 and All City Breakers bring the noise on the dancefloor, while East 3 owns it on the aerosol.

Ill Hill Society, Big Moxxx, Mo Illa Pillas, and Creed Chameleon will be schooling the people on the emcee knowledge and a who’s who of Hawaii Hip-Hop DJs will be showing out the DJ Exhibition. As if that wasn’t enough, Jason Tom will be holding it down for the beat boxers.

Along with all this, Mighty 4 will celebrate the achievements of both Kavet The Catalyst and DJ James Coles, highlighting their contributions to Hawaii’s Hip-Hop Movement and Hawaii’s youth.

This is an amazing event that makes me happy to love Hip-Hop.

This all goes down this Saturday at 2pm at Fresh Cafe at 831 Queen St., near Ward Center. $15 gets you in the door, with kids 12 and under FREE.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Once Upon A Time In Honolulu”

    This slideshow requires JavaScript.

New this week at the Fitted Hawaii shop is this new shirt and hat combo. Based around the phrase “Once Upon a Time in Honolulu,” this shirt uses a font that hearkens back to classic Honolulu, where the old themes of palm trees, hula skirts, and Duke Kahanamoku, were still being developed into legendary status.

The back of the shirt features a white crown.

The hat is a new color flip of the Pride hat, featuring a red upper, black brim, and black piping.

Both these pieces will be available starting today at the Kona St. headquarters.

In celebration of the 1 year anniversary of the Maestro Knows web show, Levi Maestro has teamed up with the homes from in4mation for a special edition skateboard deck. The deck features the colored squares pattern, recently found on the in4mation G-Shock, as the background for the deck.

The image of Maestro adorns the middle, surrounded by two Matsumoto Shave Ice cones. Definitely fits the vibe and positivity of Levi Maestro himself.

The only details known as of right now is that this will drop July 2nd at in4mation and its a limited edition launch, with only 50 decks made.

For more on this, check out the in4mation website.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Culture Against Man” x Kamehameha

This Saturday’s Fitted Hawaii release takes a bold stance with the ideology of the Native Hawaiian people. This release, called “Culture Against Man,” puts the emphasis on the ways and important people of the indigenous Hawaiian culture. This shirt represents the struggle to be understood and the oppression the Hawaiians felt under the rule of European explorers.

The shirt’s graphic depicts that and outlines USA with the Stars and Stripes in the middle of the graphic. The shirt also features a tonal black crown on the back.

The hat being released alongside this shirt is a very simple, yet powerful Kamehameha. All black body, white logos, red button. Simple, yet bold.

These pieces release this Saturday at the Kona St. headquarters.

For more info, check out the Fitted Hawaii website.

76 cent plate lunch at L&L (Ke’eaumoku) Thursday

In what almost seems to be an annual tradition, the L&L Hawaiian Barbecue on Ke’eaumoku St., next to Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club has been offering 76 cent plate lunches around this time of year. This is all to benefit Goodwill Industries of Hawaii.

So, the deal is… 76 cent plate lunches (from a limited menu, of course) and 10 cent Pepsi. Limit one plate and drink per customer. You must be standing in line by 12pm in order to qualify for the offer. Also, the first 10 people in line get free Pepsi for a month and the first 100 people get a free L&L shirt.

Again, this all goes down this Thursday at 10am at the L&L on Ke’eaumoku.  So, after you spent all night waiting in line for your iPhone… hop in another line to get fed for less than a dollar, and help benefit Goodwill at the same time.
