    Sideshow at Circus Gallery

the lightsleepers are invading the North Shore.

They’ve been invited by curator Nick Welles of the Circus Gallery in Haleiwa to participate in the North Shore’s Haleiwa Art Walk.  This art walk is similar to Chinatown’s First Friday, so be prepared to check out all of the North Shore’s finest art emporiums opening up their doors and allowing people inside.  But, at the Circus Gallery, the lightsleepers will be bringing some of that Chinatown flavor up north.

Alongside of dope artists (Eukarezt and Philippe Anthony, to name a few), the lightsleeper crew will be bringing along some MCs (NoMasterBacks, Prolific Unknowns, Audible Lab Rats), Vezzen will be bringing some of that grimy MPC action, and an open mic session. Alongside of the goodies, there will also be two new lightsleepers designs to check out.

Told you they were bringing Chinatown to the North Shore.

Make your way up the North and check out the Haleiwa Art Walk.  This all goes down this Saturday (and every last Saturday) from 5pm-11pm.

    Earth Day 2010

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day.  This year, there’s tons of initiatives that are going down to help celebrate a day we can help out Mother Earth.  Starting this week, at all target stores, they’re giving away special Earth Day “go green” bags made out of recycled Coke bottles.  Also, many Farmers Markets will be holding down the sustainability theme today.

Also, in what has been almost a tradition, DisneyNature releases the latest in their Nature documentary series with “Oceans,” a look at the 5 major oceans of the world and the animals that inhabit them.  A special donation will be made to the Nature Conservancy to help save coral reefs worldwide.

Do your part and do something this Earth Day. Recycle a can, reduce trash or help clean up a beach.

For more ideas on what you can do, or to find out what others are doing across the globe, check out http://www.earthday.org/
