    Fitted Hawaii web exclusive gear

Fitted Hawaii has just dropped a set of new gear that is only available within the virtual walls of the Fitted Hawaii web store.

Highlighted by a green, yellow, and teal Kamehameha New Era, these new shirts features designs that have been featured in the past but have been twisted with new color schemes and new themes.

Fitted Hawaii has been pushing the envelope with the web releases recently and redefining the definition of a web store as an accessory to the brick and mortar.

Check out the new gear on the Fitted Hawaii website.

NEON NEON, a benefit for Kenneth Brimer

    Text courtesy of FITTED Hawaii.

Please come down to Neon Neon this Saturday @ SOHO in support of our brother Kenny and his recent diagnosis with Leukemia. Hawaii Bone Marrow Donor Registry will also have a booth set up the same night inside of SoHo, between 7 – 9PM. If you haven’t, please take a couple minutes to sign up; its absolutely free! We’re humbly asking for everyone’s help in the search for a bone marrow match and transplant. Below is a personal message from Kenny himself along with more info on how you can help out:

“My name is Kenneth Brimer and I’ve been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphotic Leukemia. The doctor says that I have a good chance to be elected to have stem cell transplant. You can’t believe how unexpected this is, at my age (36). I have it in me to get over this…. but it seems like the fight is only half the battle. I need the fight of other people along with mine to kick this.” “Thank you for all of the help.”Kenneth Brimer

in4 x Blue Scholars OOF! Listening Party

    ooflisteningpartyflyer

After you’ve enjoyed their Friday performance at the Loft and before they head to the outer islands for a few performances, you can check out the Blue Scholars as they host a special listening party for their new EP, OOF!

To match the theme of the album, they’ll be having a Sunday afternoon BBQ at Magic Island, near Ala Moana Center.

So, gather the fam (literally, this is a family-friendly event), some food to share (it IS a potluck) and cruise with Geo, Sabzi, the in4mation fam, Honozooloo, and all your other friends on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii.

This is gonna start around 3pm, but you know how Hawaiian time goes… just head over to Magic Island and look for the in4mation banners.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Grain of Sand”

This Saturday, the Fitted Ohana is back at it again with a fresh new release.

This week, they pay tribute to the beautiful beaches of Hawaii, in their own unique way, of course. The shirt features a lush, tropical scene, brought together and designed to look like it was a sand painting. That’s right, the image is made out of tiny dots, fashioned in a way to create the scene. The shirt represents not only Hawaii’s natural scenery, but also the sand that makes up a lot of that scenery.

The shirt also features a clear gel Fitted crown on the back.

The hat is a Mets New Era draped in purple, with a black brim and buttons, white eyelets and white Mets logo. Again, a sold color hit heading into the Fall season.

These two pieces will be available this Saturday at Fitted Hawaii’s Kona St. headquarters.

    The OOF! Tour

    l_cefbf075156b4645acd4b17da79e87fb

BAMP Project presents the return of Pacific Northwest favorite Blue Scholars on their “OOF! Tour,” to celebrate the release of their latest EP.

If you remember the last few times they came to Hawaii… they pretty much rocked Next Door into closing temporarily… turned Campus Center into a raging concert hall… and returned to make New Year’s amazing.

Now, fresh off the heels of their latest EP release, dedicated to Hawaii, they’re taking the show all over the islands. Along for the ride are Bambu and Creed Chameleon.

The first show of the OOF! Tour takes place TONIGHT at The Loft. The show is 18+, so definitely it’s safe to bring those who weren’t able to get into the legendary Next Door shows. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are the door, Groove Tickets, or the BAMP website.

Beat Root 2009 3/6 – POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEK

    br09-3

UPDATE: just got a call from @Lofa, apparently, there wa sa scheduling conflict, so Beat Root 3/6 has been POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEK: SEPTEMBER 24TH.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    _Mister J: All Day.

After a successful Round 2 last month (with atypicalLIVING serving as guest judges), T.K.O. and Ely are the two competitors in the Beat Root Grand Championships.

This month will feature (hopefully) six new entrants, all vying for a spot in the Grand Championships.

The stakes have been raised, as now ALOE BLACC and DJ EXILE from Stones Throw Records will select at least two beats from the six winners of the Beat Root qualifiers to use on an upcoming mixtape.

It’s a great opportunity for some Hawaii producers to go get some shine.

This month’s battle will take place today at Easy Music Center on King St. The battle starts promptly at 5pm.

For more, check out the lightsleepers.

In what can only be described as a stroke of inspired genius, Sabzi, the producing force behind Seattle favorites Blue Scholars and Common Market, has just released this DOPE mixtape featuring a mix of Hawaiian music never really thrown together in this manner before.

Mixing together classic Jawaiian joints and guaranteed green bottle poppers, this mix is sure to be amazing playing in your truck, chillin next to your cooler and your copy of OOF!

You can cop the mixtape here.

Of course, don’t forget that Sabzi and Geo will be running their OOF! Tour this weekend at the Loft and on Maui.

Called PISTAS: faith through the eyes of art, the art will be provided by some of Hawaii’s top artists, including Shaun Castro and Philippe Anthony. Live music will be pumping all night and, of course, the good vibes of positive people will be permeating throughout.

This all goes down TONIGHT at the Campus Center Ballroom at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The doors open at 6:30pm and there’s free parking on University Ave. after 6pm. Come down for the good vibes, great food, great live art and awesome people.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii Trilocks x Dallas Mavericks

Another Tuesday, another Fitted Hawaii release.

This week, we got a silver shirt with white trilocks adorning the front. The very simple pattern has been finding it’s way onto all of the Fitted Hawaii gear as of late, making this the signature pattern for the company. It’s simple, yet speaks to the Polynesian roots of the company. A good look overall.

To match that, there’s also a corresponding blue Dallas Mavs New Era, laced out in white logos and a gray brim. Definitely a bold statement of darker colors for the upcoming Fall season.

Start getting your colors muted and your gear right, as football and basketball start up again.

This is available now at the Fitted Hawaii Kona St. headquarters.

    atypicalLIVING Covers… Rival Schools

    DSC_0303

atypicalLIVING Creative Partners presented a special art show at Diverse Art Center near Ward Warehouse called “Rival Schools.”

This show, a fundraiser for the Diverse Art Center, featured a video game battle, a 3-on-3 BBoy team battle and a special 1-on-1 freestyle, anystyle battle. Also featured were the artwork of the atypicalLIVING Creative Partners and a special live art exhibition featuring Shaun Castro, Philippe Anthony, RZone, and dainzers.

All in all, it was a pretty dope event that raised money for a very worthy cause. Big ups to all the sponsors, artists, dancers, and to Niki from Diverse Art Center for allowing us to rock the spot. I’m pretty sure you’ve seen more coverage out there, but this was straight from my camera that I was carrying with me the whole night.

Enjoi the photos and we’ll see you at the next show. Stay Tuned.

Check out the photos HERE on the atypicalFLICKR.
