Split Obsession: now open at Ala Moana

The East Side’s most impressive fashion & toy boutique is invading town.

Split Obsession, the purveyor of all things fashionable and vinyl, has just launched their latest endeavor in the heart of town at Ala Moana Shopping Center.

The same vibe and the same great stuff that you expect from Bruce and Erica is now in a slightly more convenient location for the masses to get to.

Check out split obsession’s new location in the heart of Ala Moana, street level, ocean side, next to Goma-Tei, Champs Sports, Game Stop, and Assaggio.

Interisland Terminal is a new organization using art as a social platform to speak out on the social and civic challenges facing Hawaii. They plan to do this by showcasing very cutting edge artists and hosting thought provoking art exhibitions, the first of which starts today.

Rinus Van de Velde is a Belgian artist whose work is based on National Geographic images from the 1950s and 60s and their attempt to reconcile a search for authenticity with a specific ideology of discovering and structuring the new, the exotic. He appends each of his drawing with his own thoughts, handwritten on the bottom for posterity.

The show opened with a special event last night, but now the show is open for public consumption.

The exhibition is located at the Interisland Terminal Pop Up gallery at 3583 Waialae Avenue, Kaimuki, Honolulu

Gallery hours are Tues – Sat 12p – 7p / Sun 12p – 4:30p / Closed Monday. The show is slated to run from July 16-26, 2009.
