The Lofa Below: Bonus Track
Flight of the Conchords – Most Beautiful Girl
Happy Valentine’s Day.
The Grand Finale:
Foreign Exchange – Sincere
This was the one song from “Connected” that didn’t seem like it fit. It’s like Phonte and Nicolay were giving a preview of what they were gonna do on “Leave It All Behind.”
Other than Common’s “The Light” this song is probably the other song that my potential mate would have to have on her iPod. Seriously, I have this thing with music where people should understand where I’m coming from just by looking at what’s on my iPod. I can only hope that my significant other would feel the same way.
The song is dope, the production is ridiculous and I hope that you felt this song the same way I did.
Also, just an insight into the past two weeks. I’ve written each of these posts while listening to the songs, so definitely this was a “How I feel about the song” type of post.
Big ups to @Lofa @lightsleepers @nicolepickle and @thatguyshaun for being a part of this mixtape series. Check out their lists over the past two weeks to see their picks and see if any songs overlap.

Relient K – The Best Thing
Relient K is one of those bands that will always have a spot on my iPod, no matter when they release an album. The songs are instantly catchy and have an awesome message behind it. Like this one.
The best thing is that it’s happening to you and me.
As a photographer, I dig the fact that: 1) the girl is cute 2) the camera’s a Polaroid 3) the theme throughout the video is pictures.
“You say, nice to meet you, I’m your other half.”
That line kills me too. This whole song does it, actually.

Who said that Valentine’s Day was supposed to be a day where all you bought was candy and flowers?
If you’re significant other is down, the Fitted Ohana got something for them.
Introducing: the Fitted Hawaii Valentine’s Day pack. Just in time for your Valentine to get laced out on Valentine’s Day.
First up is a corresponding set of shirts based off of the Positive K classic “I Got A Man.”
The women’s shirt has the chorus of the song printed on the shirt, while the guy’s shirt has the obligatory comeback. If you don’t know or understand why this shirt is awesome, then get familiar.
The second shirt is an all-white piece featuring a heart over your own heart. Inside that heart is the Fitted crest. On the back, it’s a dope illustration of two lovers in a canoes and the words “Lovers Rock” scrawled cross the bottom. The shirt, if you haven’t figured it out from the last couple of words, is a shout out to the woman responsible for many babies in this world: Sade.
To top this off, literally and figuratively, is a New Era snapback with the “Aloha” logo emblazoned across the crown. A Fitted crest and snapback closure accent the rear of the hat. A red leather bill faces forward or to the side, depending on how you rock your hats.
This entire set is is slated to drop this Saturday at 11am, so go and grab a set for your significant other (or for yourself) and get comfy this Valentine’s Day.
If you plan on waiting in line for this set, please kokua and park at Ala Moana and walk across the street.

Alicia Keys – Tender Love
Much like the James Ingram song earlier in the mixtape, just SEEING the title should have already put you in the mood.
Take one of contemporary music’s most talented voices and have her redo one of the 80s most iconic love songs… you got the makings of a winner.
I mean, I had to rewatch this one a couple times, especially when Alicia drops her ad lib at the end of the song.
SO Epic. No other words can describe this song. And she does the whole thing LIVE is a definite +1.
The Captain and Tennille – Love Will Keep Us Together
Oh, you don’t think I was gonna make this fun, huh?
OK, some notes about this song, besides it being hella epic… notice that both The Captain (Darryl Dragon, an awesome name BTW) and Toni Tennille are rocking TWO KEYBOARDS while playing this song. Who does that nowadays?
These guys would KILL on Rockband, for serious.
But, other than that… Love WILL keep us together, for serious. A great message for a hateful world.

The Siq Records crew and DJ BONE got something dope for you guys this Pre-Valentine’s Night.
What better way to celebrate your Valentine’s (or lack thereof) than with Creed Chameleon? Seriously, Creedence should be bringing it EXTRA HARD this Friday, as this holiday makes up the majority of his first studio album “Love Potion Cyanide.” Speaking of, if you somehow manage your significant other to go with you to Tropics this Friday, you get a free copy of “Love Potion Cyanide” as a special gift to you two.
Besides the good Valentine’s vibes, you also get the musical stylings of the Hammer Brothers and the consummate professionalism and ill emceeing of Hawaii’s next Kings of Hip-Hop: the Perfect Median. Also, for the first time , Ill Hill Society will be gracing the stage. So, that should be enough of a treat for you guys to come out.
Top that off with extra grooves of DJ Kozy and CareLess1.
This all goes down this Friday night at 9:30pm at Tropics Cafe at the Ward Farmers Market. Tropics Cafe is located next to the Ward Theatres and the Ward Farmers Market. Entry is free for those 18+, so enjoy the good grooves, good vibes, and awesome food.
For more info, check out SIQ Records.
VALENTINE (Ryan Leslie)
VERSE 1
i don’t have to say you’re beautiful
you’ve got plenty other guys to say those words for you
and i don’t have to say you run the show
all it takes is a word, i lose control for you
HOOK
i know you’re not my girlfriend, but
i swear that i love you
baby i do
i know you’re not my girlfriend, but
i swear that i love you
baby i do
VERSE 2
i don’t have to say you stole my heart
’cause anything i have i freely give to you
and i knew right from the very start
that the only place i belong is next to you
HOOK
BRIDGE
even thru all
the ups and downs
you can’t stop
the way i feel now
even thru the storm
joy & pain
i won’t change
still feel the same
anytime you call
i don’t care
no matter the reason
i’ll be there
constantly on my mind
and that’s why i’m hoping
you will be my
valentine (valentine)
HOOK
…and i know you love me too
VOICEBOX
i swear that i love you…yes i do
Dashboard Confessional – Screaming Infidelities
Now, it wouldn’t be a mixtape from me if I didn’t have at least ONE Dashboard Confessional song.
This is like the most emotional one I can think of. Picking a Dashboard Confessional song that is the most emotional is like picking the T-Pain song that has the most AutoTune involved. They all kinda sound like they have the same amount in it.
I don’t even know what a bottle of beast is, and how it’s taking Chris Carrabba home, but whatever works, I guess.
But as for me, I wish that I was anywhere, with anyone, making out.
TRUE.
