    Six Years of superCW.com

    supercwanniversaryflyers

    supercwanniversaryflyerz

Six years and over 80,000 photos later, she is the Queen of the Bloggies.

Hard to believe that Christa Wittmier has been running superCW for six years.  She’s seen the ups and downs of Hawaii’s nightlife scene with her Honolulu Nightlife Diaries, making friends and snapping flicks of anyone (and everyone) who’s anyone in Hawaii.  She’s also been named the “Best Local Blog” by the readers of Honolulu Weekly.  Not bad for someone that lurks the nightlife.  I can only hope to get to that level someday.

So, congrats to Christa for all the hard work during the past six years (and for helping out this local blog figure out what’s going on).  You SO deserve this party, you don’t even know.  And you can celebrate along with all the other hot peoples and experience your own crew mesh at Pearl Nightclub this Friday night.  There’s drink specials all night (obviously), pupu menu all the way until 1AM, and it’s free before 9PM.  Organik Clothing (makers of the notorious “Cameraface” CW Pro Model shirt) will be doing a fashion show.  Maleko from STAR 101.9 (@djmaleko) will be handling the emcee duties and DJ Eskae (@steve_eskae) will be holding it down in the DJ booth.  Which makes me wonder, how is he gonna get from the superCW party to Soul Clap if he’s rocking both parties at the same time?  Hmmm, only one way to find out right?

The superCW party goes down this Friday night at Pearl Nightclub at Ala Moana Center.  FREE before 9PM, $10 until 10PM, and $5 if you’re on the guestlist.  Also, if you rock the Cameraface shirt… well, I’ll let you find that one out at the door what happens.

Anyway, congrats once again to CW for six years of bouncing the camera flash off of peoples faces and making Hawaii look better and better through your expansive photo updates.  Congrats, superCW.com is officially a first grader, and Hawaii couldn’t be any more proud.

    As always, check out superCW.com

Props to Flash & Matty Boy Productions for throwing this event.

    Free Pancake Day at IHOP

    ihop-childrens-miracle-network

Everyone seems to be hopping onto this free breakfast thing nowadays.

Today, along with it being malasada day, IHOP’s all across the nation are celebrating Mardi Gras in their own special way by calling it “National Pancake Day.”  Besides giving away a free short stack of pancakes between the hours of 7am and 10pm, all IHOP’s will be raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network.

They’ve been doing this since 2006, so it’s not like they’re trend-humping on the Denny’s thing, but since Hawaii’s only had ONE IHOP for so long, no one really did any coverage on it.  Now that it’s in multiple locations, people should be flocking over to get some free pancakes and donate to a worthy cause.

For more details, check out http://www.ihoppancakeday.com/

    Happy Malasada Day!

In Hawaii, we celebrate Fat Tuesday, but we go about it in a different way.

Fat Tuesday is the day before the beginning of the Catholic season of Lent.  Usually, for Lent, people give up indulgent foods for the 40 Days.  That includes malasadas, the fried, sugar coated puff bread pastry of Portuguese origin that’s a locals favorite.  So, as tradition, Leonard’s – the purveyors of such delectable creations – has always designated the the day before Ash Wednesday as “Happy Malasada Day.”

So, get all happy go lucky and scarf down a dozen or so of these things before it’s no go starting on Wednesday.

You can find all the Leonard’s locations here.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Kuli Kuli” shirt

    kuli-kuli-blog

Oh man… give it up to the Fitted Ohana for bringing back the ol’ skool.

The Fitted Ohana always drops the dopest designs for the masses and this one is no exception, with the extra bonus point of being mad attractive for those that understand the terminology.

So, the story goes (for those that don’t know) the term “kuli-kuli” is basically the locals way to tell someone to shut up, knock it off, pipe down, etc., but in a nice way and authoritative way that people understood.  Hope that explains the graphic for you.  Now, about the shirt itself, crispy white tee accented with the mouth graphic  done up in in red reflective lips and grey reflective words.  Fitted crown adorns the back, just so you know.

Oh, didn’t think I’d notice the hat in the corner huh?

NEW! Kamehameha Fitted Hat done up in grey flannel wool for the crown, black denim bill, red underbill and button and a white Kamehameha the Great graphic.  SUPER OFFICIAL STATUS is definitely bestowed upon this set.

Be forewarned, the hat is limited to 30 pieces, so get yours before it gets GOT.  Same rules apply, as always, so please Kokua and park at Ala Moana and walk over if you plan on getting there early.

    As always, FITTED HAWAII.
