    Turkey Tourney 2008

    home_pg_redux

So, you’ve gotten fat by eating your weight in turkey and stuffing.

You’ve gone poor by spending all your money on Black Friday sales.

So, what do you do to top all that?

How about testing your skills against some of the best video gamers on the island?

The first annual Turkey Tourney goes down this Saturday afternoon and brings together gamers from across the island for a one-day, five game shootout to determine who’s got game and who’s still hanging from a tryptophane-induced coma.

Test your skills in one of five games: Street Fighter: Third Strike, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War 2, or Rock Band 2.  Compete against yourself and others and win fabulous prizes in the long run.

This goes down this Staurday from 2-10pm at Kalihi Union Church Gym.  It’s $7 at the door, but $5 when you pre-register at the Turkey Tourney website: TurkeyTourney08.com

Shouts out to the sponsors of this fine event: PC Gamerz, Razor Concepts, HVGL (Hawaii Video Gaming League), and Microsoft XBOX.

    Kicks/HI Black Friday Sale/Releases

    blkfri08news

Unfortunately, the epic Kicks/HI warehouse sale will not be in effet this year.

Instead, the Kicks/HI fam is coing at you with a new approach: new product drop.

First up is the release of the limited edition “TAPA” print snapback caps and shirt.  This pattern holds special significance, as it’s the same pattern that’s in a lightbox for the Kicks/HI + GUAM shop.  The tribal triangle pattern is the new hotness, as the Kicks/HI crew utilizes it to it’s fullest potential here.

Also dropping on Black Friday is a new 1Hund(Red) Converse release. This collabo is with Danish designers WOOD WOOD.  AND… don’t forget about new Nike SB gear dropping as well.

Not a fan of the new releases, well, the Kicks/HI crew will also be throwing down some sweet specials, including 20% off all outerwear, 20% off all women’s gear, $10/$15 shirts and 50% off select merchandise.  Again, the sales are nice, but don’t expect the warehouse sale.  This is a different beast.

The Black Friday Kicks/HI sale begins this Friday and goes on all weekend, so make Kicks/HI one of your stops this weekend.

    For more, check out Kicks/HI.

    in4mation Black Friday Sale

    blackfridaysale3

Throw in4mation’s name into the hat for Black Friday sales.

They’re taking it to another level this year, with massive discounts on everything and special raffles, giving away dope stuff, including the last of the G-Shock x in4 Seafoam watches and the first fo the new Vans x in4 Half-Cabs.

The sales are so ridiculous that they had to move everything to a conference room on the second floor.  But, the extra trek should be worth it with everything 50-75% off. $5 denim? $5 jackets? $25 backpacks? Yessir.

To get in on this action, head upstairs from in4mation on Black Friday to the Kewalo Conference Room, right across the way from Buffet 100.  The sale starts at 9am, so hit up all the other Black Friday spots first, but get in line early to get your hands on all the good stuff.

For more, check out the in4mation website.

The second thing dropping is a new shirt called “Ho Brah” that pays tribute to the old Vision Skateboard “psycho sticks” graphics.  This one’s tweaked with a Fitted hit on the bototm and the tribal triangle pattrn foudn on the guy’s shades.  Very dope and very Fitted.

    5to9/Soul Clap this Friday

    eventflyer2

    2r2uhzt

thirtyninehotel’s monthly pau hana throwdown / dance party mashup event is going down this Friday night.

With the craziness of Halloween making last month’s event insane, this month’s will be equally as crazy, as it falls on Black Friday.

First up in the queue is a special edition of 5to9, which will be used as a fundraiser for Roots Rhythm, a non-profit that is dedicated to inspiring and enriching lives through music education and appreciation, community service, and outreach events.  Also, the first 50 people through the door get a free pair of Scott Slippers.  Extra bonus right there.

Follow that up with another winning edition of Soul Clap, made extra special because it’ll be the first stop of the Mister J: All Day birthday tour.  And if you don’t know, get at me and find out.

All this goes down this Friday night, starting at 5pm for 5to9.  At 9pm, the 5to9 crowd transforms into the Soul Clap dancing machine, for a party that rocks it out until 2am.  This all happens at thirtyninehotel.  Look for the stairs right next to Bar 35 and walk up.

For more info, check DJ Eskae.

    NEW! St. Alfred Fall/Winter 2008

This represents the soul of St. Alfred’s 2008 Fall/Winter line.  These design focus for this season is layering, so that means all the pieces look exceptional under a jacket, layered with other shirts, or as piece son their own.  This theme is translated to the shirts with a very strong, centered front hit and minimal sleeve accents.  Perfect for slipping under a jacket or atop a long sleeve thermal piece.

The jackets are a different story.

The Zip-Up hoodie is a lightweight affair, with a durable YKK zipper, lightweight fleece and embroidered accents.  This piece looks great atop one of the shirts, underneath a jacket or zipped up on it’s own.  It’s a great piece with very flexible options.  The black might look plain in the shots, but the embroidery is definitely there.

The new St. Alfred x Penfield jacket is a very tech looking jacket that looks bulky, but wears very slim.  it’s insulated, but not overly heavy.  It’s plain-looking, but full of details.  The finish is very slick and the “STA” logo patch rests on the chest, with an embroidered Penfield hit on the opposite side.

This is functional, fahsionable and oh, so, essential.

You can scoop up thse pieces starting TODAY at both St. Alfred in Chicago and both Kicks/HI locations at Makaloa St. and at the Ward Center Shops.
