Five to Nine/Soul Clap this Friday

It’s the last weekend of the month.  In Chinatown, that only means one thing… the two dopest events for the sophisticated young professional crowd will be going on back to back at thirtyninehotel.

First up is Ad2 Honolulu’s FIve to Nine.  This is Honolulu’s premier pau hana networking session for Honolulu’s young professionals.  Be there to get your name out there with Hawaii’s movers and shakers.

After Five to Nine comes Chinatown’s dopest dance monthly, Soul Clap.  DJ’s ESKAE, Jami, Solution, and Compose of the mighty Nocturnal Sound Krew will be sharing DJing duties throughout the night.  The jams will be flowing and so will the drink specials.

Five to Nine begins, naturally, at 5pm.  This is 21+ and free to attend.  Soul Clap begins shortly after that and runs until 2am.  This event is also 21+.  Those that go to Five to Nine will gain free entry into Soul Clap.  To RSVP for free entry into Soul Clap, email steve@djeskae.com

BayVI/Local Motion present Paparazzi

The hardest thing for an amateur to do is to get noticed, especially in surfing.  Well, BayVI and Local Motion are here to help level the playing field.  They’ll be holding a special event called Paparazzi, in which BayVI, Heavywater Magazine, Local Motion and Surf News Network will come together and hook up the ams with the ultimate in exposure: their very own, fully customizable photoshoot.

Everyone will receive their very own poster of their best action shot.  Last year, the crew caught someone’s first barrel.  Everyone will also receive a special, limited-edition BayVI Paparazzi shirt.  The top shot gets featured in a two-page spread for Local Motion in the next Heavywater Magazine.  The best and most creative shots will be combined and used for a BayVI ad.

This all goes down this Saturday at Kaiser Bowls in Honolulu.  Seriously, what better than an actual photo shoot and riding the waves of Kaiser Bowls with only 5 other guys in the water in the same day?

How does one get involved with this?  Well, there’s only 48 positions available, and interested riders should be honest and say they’ll be there.  The signups are available at all Local Motion locations.

Shop Till You Rock at thirtyninehotel

thirtyninehotel and SMART magazine present “Shop Till You Rock,” a special Saturday afternoon shopping event going down at 39 N Hotel St.

This one will feature fashions from Anné, A.P.B., Electric, Gravis, Isidra Custom Cuts, Meesah, Organik,  Soozou, and Vestal.

There will be music provided by DJ Princess X and complimentary cocktails/mocktails will be provided.

Also going down is the SWAP SHOP, where you can swap out your old clothes for new threads.

This all goes down this Saturday afternoon, 12-4pm, at thirtyninehotel.  After shopping till you Rock, check out INTO just right across the street.
