    First Fashion Friday

First Fashion Friday is going down tomorrow night at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

This edition is themed “Transitions” and will cover the various ways one piece of clothing can be… that’s right… transitioned from workday function, to nightlife fashion.

The panel for this months discussion will consist of Hugette Monesinos. editor of Disfunktion Magazine; Nadine Kam, The Honolulu Star-Bulletin’s fashion, style, beauty, and culture blogger; and Wendy Robin of Studio W and Stargirl Cosmetics.

This one looks to be epic (and it’s FREE), so to join in on the fun, call 808.566.2337 or email info@alohatower.com to register for First Fashion Friday.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Standing 8” tee and shirt

Fitted Hawaii has just dropped another illmatic shirt called “Standing 8”

What does the standing 8 stand for?  It stands for each of the main Hawaiian Islands.  Eight islands, eight stripes of the Fitted logo.  ANd Fitted IS Hawaii, so it works out, right?

Along with the dope shirt, there’s also a yellow on black Houston Astros fitted, with black eyelets, stitching, and logo.

With all Fitted releases, the same rules apply: first come, first served; phone orders taken after 12pm daily.

    This is available now.

For more information, check out Fitted Hawaii.

Honolulu Art Collective – First Friday at the Loft

The HAC is back for another round of First Friday debauchery at the Loft.  This month, they’re featuring works from HAC mainstays Aaron Lee (who, I’m hoping, is going to have more of those dope paper Cryptonauts there), Aaron VB, Runjunko Pugh and Hanasaurus will be on display, along with some new stuff from a ton of artists that you may or may not have heard of, but their work is dope nontheless.

After the HAC display, Swampa ZZ and DJ Eskae will rock the party until 2am.

This all goes down this First Friday at the Loft.  This marks the second month that both the bar and sushi bar will be in effect, and from all report, both are considered dope, so do yourself a favor and grab a PBR and a spicy ahi while you’re checking out the art.

The art showcase is free and open to all ages, starting at 4pm.  At 9pm, the unders gotta get booted and only the 21+ can rock out to the dance party after-party.

Props to the Loft, the enterprise, and the always fashionable danceonpartyon.com for putting this together.

    groundUP presents: Bound For Greatness

Seriously, as if I need to put any copy below the flyer.

You already know the deals, but for those that don’t… here’s the situation:

Noa and his merry band of groundUP Pirates present one of the final art shows of 2008 with BOUND FOR GREATNESS.  This event brings together pirates of all media in one place, sharing what they love to Hawaii’s very appreciative art audience.

The usual suspects will be in attendance, with the expansive groundUP roster of artists: painters, illustrators, photographers, models, fashion designers, musicians, producers, DJs, and poets, providing aural and visual stimulation.

To try and list everyone on the flyer would be silly, so just read the flyer and check out al the dopeness that’s gonna be produced during the event.

One important thing to note is that there wil be new groundUP t-shirts available, so make sure you get up on it and score yourself a piece of the biggest collective of artists in Hawaii.

Noa is the mastermind behind everything groundUP and, thanks to his tireless efforts, this one promises to be another epic show and another arrow in the ever-growing quivver of amazing groundUP art shows.

BOUND FOR GREATNESS is set to go down this Saturday night at the Honolulu Design Center.  $7 gets you through the door, $5 if you wear a skirt, collared shirt or groundUP shirt.  This all ages event starts at 8pm and is slated to go until midnight.  Free parking is available in the Honolulu Design Center.

For more information, check out The groundUP Movement.
