It’s Sunday Afternoon and it’s time to play a little catch-up.

Jules and the Leilow crew just released this beauty a little while ago.  Purple is one of the colors you want to use as an accent in the upcoming Fall season, and there’s nothing better to accent your outfit than a fit upon your dome.  And you can’t get much better than this faux leather Leilow piece.

Smooth Satin interior, perforated crown and purple like Prince.  Super Official.

You can catch these over at Leilow on Makaloa.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “When the Morning Comes”

Another Saturday, another Fitted Hawaii drop.

This one is special for a few reasons, which I’ll cover later.

First up, the hats: San Francisco Giants in orange with white trim and green brim.  Perfect for your crazy end of Summer fits.  Next is a Philadelphia Athletics custom, before they moved to Oakland.  The colors are navy blue with red logo and green brim.

Now, the shirt.  This one is subtitled “When the Morning Comes” and gathers its inspiration from two things strictly Hawaii.  First inspiration is the Ko’olau Mountains.  The beauty of waking up to the amazing sunrise coming up over the Ko’olaus is amazing.  Truly a sight to behold.  The next inspiration is the song from the legendary Kalapana.  A cover of a Hall and Oates classic, “When the Morning Comes” is one of those tracks that, as soon as you hear it come on, you know it’s going down.

    Watch, experience, then enjoy.

As always, the same rules apply: first come, first served… phone orders taken after 12pm.

For more info, check out Fitted Hawaii.

Of course, after you scoop up your Fitted, swing by Prolifik for the Roses and Revolvers show.

    NEW! MyCryptonauts Paper Craft toys.

Aaron Lee and his Cryptonauts are back with something new.  Riding the paper craft wave, the MyCryptonauts have added two new members to the family.  Both feature the same style as their bigger siblings, but in an easier to manage form.

These paper figures are also available at your favorite retailer, as a select few (around 100, in fact) will be left around the city for anyone to pick up.  Similar to the Vice Magazines or Frank 151, these little collectible paper toys can be found and scooped up from all the dopest spots on the island.  If you see one, by all means, go ahead and make it yours.

MyCryptonauts will be releasing one new version of this paper doll every month (or so) and will be leaving them around the island.  If you happen to miss out on a Cryptonaut drop, you can download the template from the MyCryptonauts website and do it yourself.

These new Cryptonauts will make their debut at Christina’s birthday party ay exclusive tonight.  Besides that, Aaron Lee will also be selling a couple of the Cryptonauts at an “exclusive” price.  Check in at the party for details.

Another place you can pick up the new MyCryptonauts paper toys would be at Prolifik this Saturday night for Roses and Revolvers: The Ladykillers.

    Roses and Revolvers: The LadyKillers

This event has been in the planning stages since the beginning of the year.  This Saturday, all that planning goes live as atypicalLIVING Creative Partners and Prolifik Projects present the most ambitious art show of the Summer 2008 season: Roses and Revolvers: The LadyKillers.

The premise is simple, with all the art events and female-only events, including Girl Fest… I don’t think anyone seriously has done a Hawaii-based all-female art show before.  So, with that in mind, the atypicalLIVING crew set out to do the seemingly impossible, round up a collective of dope female artists to throw an art show.  What ended up happening was the coming together of 16 of the dopest double-X chromosomes ever brought together in one spot.

Some names you’ll recognize off the bat from the groundUP Pirates: R Zone, Janel Natividad, Lady Julz, Painted Lemon, and Amy Wagner (who, according to everyone who has seen it, has stepped her game up to another level and easily has two of the illest pieces in the show…).  Other names look familiar, but can’t really place where you’ve seen them before: Remi, Leah Ball (MidWeek), Lisa Mita (MidWeek / Prolifik), Sonia Castro (groundUP).  Other names look familiar, but you’d never have expected them to be in an art show in Hawaii: Hannah Stouffer (Grand Array / Upper Playground), Phallic Mammary (Pocket Full of Monsters / http://jen.lu).

Other names you haven’t even seen before, but you should know, as they make up the Prolifik Projects ninja crew: Jandi Q, Angeli Saura, Merissa Revestir.

And two of the illest women I’ve ever worked with and the two original LadyKillers: the talented Cheryl Membrere (Agency Design / Melange Design / atypicalLIVING) and the always dangerous Miss Yumi (TrueType Tyrant / atypicalLIVING).

All 16 of these women were brought together with one goal in mind, to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  What better to battle the number one killer of women than to send out a team of trained art assassins to take it down?  That’s the goal behind Roses and Revolvers: to raise money for the ACS and awareness about this disease.

Now that you’ve gotten the information, time to act on it.

Roses and Revolvers: The Lady Killers opens this Saturday night at Prolifik HQ at 939 McCully Street.  The gallery opens at 5pm.  Entry fee is $10 / $5 if you wear a shirt from one of the sponsors.  A portion of the proceeds from the door and the art sales will go to benefit the American Cancer Society.  Music will be provided by the head lightsleeper Kavet the Catalyst.  Most of the art will be on sale.  Interested buyers should find me at the show and inquire about prices.

As a special bonus to those who check out split obsession’s I Got Wood show in Hawaii Kai at the same time… we’ll allow after hours entrance (after 9pm) to those who provide: a valid split obsession receipt dated August 23rd, a wood block from the show, or a picture on their digital camera / phone of themselves with Bruce, Erica, or both.  We’ll be here all night, so check out split obsession first, then check out Roses and Revolvers.

The show will be up for the next month and open on an appointment basis.  Email me at (jdomingo@atypicalLIVING.com) for more information.

Hope to see everyone on Saturday, as we’ve put a lot of work into this event.  Hope we can represent Hawaii, women, and Hawaii’s women the way it should be represented.

Props to all the sponsors for their unbelievable support (lightsleepers, iKandy/exclusive, superCW.com).

NEW! Fitted “Sunset” tee and New Eras

    Another Tuesday, another Fitted drop.

So, with Summer winding down, it seems like the Fitted crew has been consistently dropping things left and right.  And you’ll be right.  I doubt there’s been a week in the past 3 months that there hasn’t been anything new from the Fitted camp.

And this week is no exception.

First, the New Eras: black denim Red Sox piece with a greenish B logo and yellow-green bill.  And, just in time for football season, is a very epic black-on-black UH piece.  Very official.

The shirt this time is subtitled “Sunset” and featured the Fitted crest on the front with more graphics on the fill in green and gray.  The same pattern appears as the fill for the Fitted crown on the back.  Those designs are printed off on a TEAL! shirt.

As always, the same rules apply: first come, first served; phone orders taken after 12pm.

For more info, check out Fitted Hawaii.
