4th of July fireworks throughout O’ahu
Today is July 4th and it’s a day to celebrate America’s Independance. It’s also a day to kick back, relax, and enjoy the fact that you are in the full swing of Summer and the dog days are creeping up on you.
There’s tons of things going on, including the opening of BayFest with Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins… Miley Cyrus’ dad performing at Schofield Barracks… the Honolulu Art Collective at the Loft…
But, the big thing about the 4th is the massive fireworks displays, of which there will be nine of them, strategically placed throughout the island.
The first shows start at 8pm and they’ll be located at Maunalua Bay in Hawaii Kai, Kailua Beach Park, Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park in Kapolei, and Maili Beach Park.
At 8:15pm, there will be a show at Schofield Barracks at Billy Ray (Miley’s dad and the guy that wrote that song about the achy breaky heart) Cyrus’ 4th of July Spectacular.
At 8:30pm, HIckam Air Force Base gets into the act with a display, as well as the huge exhibition being thrown by Ala Moana at Magic Island.
At 8:45pm, there’s gonna be a display at Pearl Harbor, which is guaranteed to be seen by anyone out in the Makakilo area, followed at 9pm with a display at Turtle Bay Resort.
The final show of the night goes down at 9:30pm, signalling the end of the the first day of BayFest.
As you can see, theres no reaosn tht you can’t catch a fireworks display at any time tomorrow night. The big one is always the Ala Moana show, only because I’ve had reports of people already staking out spots a whole 36 hours before the event. That’s a lot of advanced notice for a 15 minute fireworks show.
Anyway, from all of us at atypicalLIVING, we wish you a safe and happy 4th of July weekend. Hit the beach, grab a hot dog, spend time out with some friends and enjoy the new definition of Summer Madness.
