The Return of First Fashion Friday

Aloha Tower is bringing back one of the hottest events from last year for a return engagement: First Fashion Friday.

This event will feature a Fall Fashion preview from Alyson Helwagen of quintessential Hawaii fashion blog, LeiChic.com, Salon Blanc’s Alan Vuong, and celebrity stylist Crystal Pancipanci.

The event is free to the public and is a nice change of pace from all the art exhibits happening just blocks up the street.  So, join the fashionistas at Aloha Tower and check out what everyone will be wearing in a few months.

Also, the first 50 to RSVP to info@alohatower.com will get a free goodie bag from CMC Medi-Spa.

The event goes down this Friday at 6pm at the Aloha Tower marketplace.  For more, check out alohatower.com

    Stylus Honolulu 3rd Anniversary Bash

Stylus, urban Honolulu’s hangout for the dopest stuff in other people’s closets, will be celebrating their third year in a very big way: with a special celebration for you (yes, YOU), the faithful patron.

The jam starts off at 11am with sets from resident Stylus DJs Monkey, Toki, and Ms. Angel.  Besides music, free food and drinks will be spun around the shop, as well as special giveaways from Stylus.  As an added bonus, purchases over $25 will receive a special, first-run, limited-edition Stylus Honolulu shirt (while supplies last).

So, swing by the shop on the third floor of University Square in Manoa… grab some new (to you) stuff and celebrate three years of keeping Hawaii fresh to death and laced out with Speedy and the rest of the Stylus Honolulu crew.

For more info on this and the latest in Hawaii thrift boutique wear, DJ Vinyl, Threadless tees, and CDs… check out the Stylus Honolulu website.

DJ Deception: No Kissing In The DJ Booth – mix

After a successful run of club dates in the St. Louis area, NSK member DJ Deception is back with another mix of hot fire.  This one, called “No Kissing In The DJ Booth,” is an electro house mix of lush noises and deep bass.  If the “French Fries” mix that he and Jay E put out earlier this year is any indication, then this one is gonna be bananas.

Definitely guaranteed to get your ass up and shaking, this one is FREE! so you best get on this ASAP.

NEW! Fitted UH hats and shirt

The Fitted crew keeps coming out with some serious heat.  Serious.

Today, they’ll be helping you get ready for football season, which is just around the corner BTW.

Go support Coach Mac and the boys with these two new New Eras and this dope Fitted Hawaii shirt.

First, the hats… one is an all black affair, with dark green bill, white eyelets and buttons, and a dark green logo with white and gray stroking around it.  The other has an identical set up, but with a light gray crown and dark green button and eyelets.  The headpieces are the perfect compliment for all your current UH gear, including that ti leaf you rock on Saturday nights.

The shirt  is the standard issue Fitted logo shirt (which never goes out of style, BTW).  The front features the Fitted crest in white and the Fitted logo in green plaid.  The back features the Fitted crown, also done up in green plaid.

As always, the same rules apply: first come, first served; phone orders taken after 12pm.

So, hit up Fitted to show your Warrior pride.  Go BOWS!

    Prototype 3rd Anniversary Party

The Prototype Operatives are celebrating three years of holding down Hawaii.  Yes, as odd as it may sound, it’s been three years since the boys sprung forth from the Windward side and began to inspire creativity all around the island.

And what creativity they’ve sprung, as the shops (both the old Windward Mall and the current Pearlridge locations) have played host to many art shows; countless number of blackbook battles; in-store appearances from numerous musical acts; and of course, the games of SKATE, held regularly at skateparks throughout the state.

Now, they’ll be celebrating that creativity at a special party this Saturday night at the Hawaiian Hut.  The party goes down at 9pm for the strictly 18+ crowd: 18 to stay, 21 to play.  The 18+ crowd has to drop $10 at the door, while the 21+ kids drop $5.  I suggest getting there early, since the first 100 get a special gift from kidrobot.

Congrats once again to the Prototype Operatives: Danny, Chris, Kevin, Cook, Kobes, and all the homies that claim the P.

Honolulu Art Collective at the Loft – First Friday

Can you believe it’s time for First Friday again?  Man, it just seemed like this month just breezed on by, because I could have sworn I did the July 4th First Friday just a little bit ago.

Anyway, it’s that time again (supposedly) and it’s First Friday, so that means that the Loft will be hosting the Honolulu Art Collective on their monthly display.  And, this month’s lineup looks killer, with MyCryptonauts Aaron Lee, Aaron VB, and Hanasaurus among the many putting pieces up in the spot just above Sunkyu bakery.

Of course, what Enterprise/Loft event would it be without the Dance Party afterwards?  This month’s “Dance Fever” will feature the sounds of Satellite Grey and DJ ESKAE (who will, no doubt, throw out the ass-shakers for the evening).

The Honolulu Art Collective exhibit runs from 4pm-9pm and is free to the public and all ages.  At 9pm, they kick out all the minor and it’s $7 for the Dance Fever Party.  This month looks to be really special, as the Loft’s bar and sushi bar is open for business.

The Loft is located on 115 Hotel Street, right above Sunkyu Bakery.

For more, check out The Enterprise on MySpace.

    NEW! Fitted Hawaii Kamehameha quickstrikes

Dang yo, as soon as I think I can take a moment off without Lofa in the building…

The Fitted Ohana come through with another (bunch of) heater(s).

And what a way to be surprised on a Monday afternoon.

The most celebrated New Era in the Fitted lineup is back in a special, limited edition (like 50 each limited) run.  The four colors are pretty sick as well.  Camo, black denim, ol skool UH baseball and Navy Blue.

Classic colorways for a classic cap.  For reals.

As always, the same rules apply: First come, First served… and, since it’s past 12pm, phone orders are gladly accepted.

You better hurry because these joints are destined to join the classic status that the black/black and red/gold have achieved.  You better get on these, for real.  otherwise, you might be waiting another couple of months for the next time these come out.

Don’t say I didn’t try to wake you up from sleeping on the Kamehameha hat.

To go get yours, check out Fitted Hawaii.

New Poketo Wallets from CkaweekS, Newkon, & Shaun Castro

This Thursday at Prototype, three of Hawaii’s finest will display their latest project: wallets.

Newkon, CkaweekS, and Shaun Castro will be on hand for the unveiling of their very own wallets from Poketo.  These wallets feature designs from the artists themselves, and will be available for purchase at the event.  Think of it as dope art that you can carry around… with some functionality thrown in, for good measure.

And, since this is a Prototype art event, you best believe there’s a blackbook battle going on somewhere in the building.  Especially since Lofa will definitely be back from his Comic Con adventure.

There’s no indication how many of each wallet they will be getting in, but rest assured that if you want one, you best be in the building opening night.

The event goes down this Thursday night at Prototype in Pearlridge.  Show starts at 5pm and keeps going until 8pm.

For more info, check out Prototype Ops online.

    Fitted Hawaii “Kama’aina Special”

To celebrate and appreciate the love and support shown by the wonderful people of Hawaii, the Fitted Hawaii crew has teamed up with Estate LA to release the “Kama’aina Special.”

The set consists of two pieces, a Fitted and a shirt. First, the hat: it’s draped in indigo denim and has a large “Hawaii” hit in white on the front. The brim of the bill has leaves, similar to what you find in military caps. The back of the cap features and orange Fitted logo and the side features a white Fitted crest. All this is topped off with an orange rope, for good measure.  The hat is $41.99 and limited to 100 pieces.

The shirt features the phrase ‘Kama’aina Special” in orange, resting on green leaves.  The back of the shirt features the Fitted crown in orange, also resting on a bed of green leaves.  This one is also specially priced at $15.99

These are sure to go fast, so make your way down to Fitted Hawaii to scoop up your set.  If you don’t live in Hawaii, you can also be Kama’aina by hitting up Estate in LA for the set.

As always, the same rules apply: First Come, First Served; no phone orders until after 12pm.

For more, check out Fitted Hawaii.

NEW! Fitted “Colors Don’t Run” shirt

Another Saturday, another Fitted Hawaii drop.  You know, the Fitted crew has become so consistent with these drops.  I hope they keep this pace up, as Hawaii needs more dope stuff out there.

Speaking of dope, that perfectly describes today’s offerings.  First the hats: old school Pittsburgh Pirates joint that reminds me of Pops Stargell and the “We Are Family” Pirates.  Next is a buttery smooth Yankees fit that’s all black with khaki suede hits.  Ultra smooth.  Finally, there’s the woodland camo Yankees fitted orange hits everywhere that remind me of the Reese Forbes “Hunter” Dunk from a few years ago.

The shirt in question is called “Colors Don’t Run” and features a rasta Red, Gold, and Green color scheme and a Hawaii paddle element in the background.  Of course, being a Fitted shirt means having it’s own twist on it, which this shirt does.  The colors are represented by three things that are indicative of Hawaii: (red) Dirt, (gold) Bangles, and (green) pakalolo.

And if you don’t know, now you know.

These items are available now at Fitted Hawaii.
