Fitted Hawaii has just dropped the details of their long awaited “Makini” Hat and Shirt release.
The hat is based off the legendary “Ikaika” helmet that the elite protectors of the King would wear. The hat just looks rugged, with the front of the cap representing the eye holes that would be cut into the mask. The string embroidery represents the kapa and the feather embroidery takes the place of the ‘uki grass. The hat also features triangle satin lining and a sogan on the underbill that states Pupukahi i holomua, which translates into “Unite to move forward” or, in another way “By working together, we make progress.”
Along with the hat, there are shirts that will be released: a red short sleeve and a white long sleeve. Both shirts feature the same slogan and feather pattern found on the hat. The white long sleeve has a tribal tattoo that runs down the length of the sleeve, where the red has the same pattern running from the bototm seam to arm pit.
This combo will sell out, so make your move now. This combo releases next Wednesday, June 11th – Kamehameha Day – at 11am. You KNOW you got a day off, so make the trek down to Fitted and get yours before it gets got. Same rules apply: first come, first served; phone orders (if there’s any supply left), taken after 1pm.
