REMINDER: Inertia 5 today at Noon

In case you forgot, the lightsleepers will be hosting Inertia 5 this afternoon at Momilani Elementary in Pearl City.  This event is a fundraiser for Grace Bible Church’s Youth Ministries and Missions teams.  On the docket for the event are one-on-one and crew b-boy battles, live painting and art exhibitions.  There’s going to be tons of heads at the event, so bring your camera, your blackbook and some money to help support this worthy cause.

Also, don’t forget that it’s Lofa’s birthday party, so get him something.  Also, check out the epic blackbook battle he’s hosting, with tons of prizes going to the winner, and the best artists in Hawaii creating dope work on the spot.

Again, it goes down today at Noon at Momilani Elementary in Pearl City.  it’s located at the top of the hill on Waimano Home Road.  I’m pretty sure there will be signs posted.

For more info, check out the lightsleepers homepage.

    UFC 84: Ill Will

Today is a big day in Hawaii’s unofficial state sport, MMA.

Today marks UFC’s 84th PPV event, subtitled Ill Will and it features Hawaii’s own, and current lightweight (155 lb.) champion, “The Prodigy” BJ Penn going up against the man who never lost his title, Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk.

The trash talk and disrespect leading into this fight has been highly publicized, so I’m just glad they’re finally putting it up and settling it in the octagon.

BUT! That isn’t the only heater on this card, as the light heavyweights get a ton of love and hopefully get the contender situation figured out in the highly contested division.  The legend of Wanderlei Silva is put to the test as he takes on Keith Jardine, fresh off his impressive victory over Chuck Liddell.  Silva, the legendary PRIDE champion, has only had one fight in his return to the octagon and it was an epic three round affair with Liddell.  Jardine is looking to cement his place in the light heavyweight division and hopefully get a shot at the champ, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

The other co-headlining fight features the 205 lbs. glorious past facing it’s bright future, as MMA legend Tito Ortiz takes on undefeated Lyoto Machida.  This one is pretty much a litmus test for both guys, as Machida is looking to take the next step up in the division and Tito is looking to reassert himself.

The event goes down today at 4pm, so hopefully the graff battle at Inertia is done before then.

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Tools of the Trade” shirt

Another Saturday, another dope Fitted Hawaii drop.

Today, it’s this shirt, dubbed “Tools of the Trade.”  The front features two purple roses with Fitted in the overlay banner.  The back features assorted Hawaiian weapons, similar to the ones on last year’s “Tools of the Trade” shirt, but this time, laid out in a pattern that resembles a skull.  Very ill and it’s another heater for the hot Summer months ahead.  With all the shirts Fitted seems to be dropping, you might want to consider picking up some shorts to rock with all the dope graphic tees you’ve accumulated in the past couple of months.

As always, the rules apply: first come, first served; phone orders taken after 12pm.

For more info, check out the Fitted Hawaii website.
