atypicalLIVING covers… groundUP: The Blueprint
This edition of atypicalLIVING covers… the latest, and possibly most massive, effort to date of the groundUP Pirates continued takeover of the Chinatown art scene. Subtitled The Blueprint, the Pirates stayed true to their formula of offering Hawaii’s most diverse mix of art, fashion, music and all around good vibes. The centerpiece of the event was the massive, multiple artist mural, featuring the collective talents of the groundUP Pirates, and featuring special guest pieces from angry woebots, 2H, CkaweekS, and Newkon.
La Pistil provided the fashion, and numerous artists provided the music, including a breathtaking performance by Juan P of Perfect Median, Stutterin Stan (who is well-spoken on the mic), MamaLux, Detego (who I dare say had the performance of the evening), Hope Mayo, and an all out audio assault from DJ Liger, DJ Memoir(s), and DJ Kutz.

The artwork was on point, the vibe was excellent and the people were beautiful, as usual. Props to Noa and the groundUP Pirates for another excellent show. Stay tuned, as the takeover continues throughout the Summer.
