    HIFF Tickets on SALE NOW! 

    For those that didn’t know, HIFF tickets go on sale today to the general public.  Both online sales and box office sales for the dope indie flicks start at 11am, so you still got some time to look through the Spring Showcase catalog and pour over which films to watch.  And also which days to call in sick to work.

    I know which one I’m going to watch, and it’s not even one listed on the printed catalog.

    MACHINE GIRL!

    If you guys don’t know about this… the basic premise is that a normal girl witnesses her brother get murdered by the heir to the Yakuza family… and she goes out to exact revenge.  There’s guns… violence… a drill bra… blood splatter…

    … did I mention a drill bra?

    This is showing Sunday night, April 20, at 9pm.  You darn right I’m gonna be there.

    “I Heart You” Fundraiser at Jazz Minds 

    Paisley and the rest of Tempo Valley will be on hand this Saturday night at Jazz Minds for a special fundraiser.  This fundraiser is looking to raise money for heart disease and to bring awareness of it’s consequences and the steps of recognizing when a stroke is happening.

    This fundraiser goes down this Saturday night at 10pm at Jazz Minds Cafe.  Entry is $7 and all proceeds go to the Dolores Fund.  For more info on the Dolores Fund, check out the link.

    Kicks/HI “The Yuki” Military Fitted Cap 

    This Saturday, Kicks/HI releases a special Cap, dedicated to one of their own.

    “The Yuki” is a reference to the one and only manager of Kicks/HI, Yuki.  The story goes that Yuki would always rock a cap just like this every day a couple of years ago.  This, I can confirm, as my usual stops into the Makaloa shop would find Yuki, behind the counter, rocking the Military cap.

    So, to pay homage to their hard working manager, the Kicks/HI crew created this cap and named it after him.

    The color scheme is very simple: ripstop cotton solid blue or solid black, with the Kicks/HI established tag on the side.  Perfect for any type of gear you plan on rocking this Spring and into Summer.  Besides, with the weather starting to warm up again, you need something to protect your dome.

    The caps will be available this Saturday at both the Makaloa and Ward locations.
