    The Cool Kids this Friday

Not much more to say than check out the flyer.  The Cool Kids, Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish, will be bringing their slowed up, heavy content downtown Chi hip-hop to Fashion 45 for FUBAR Fridays.

    Yeah, I know.

Anyway, the Cool Kids will be in the spot, so definitely rock your matching Nikes, a Fitted and some all over print tees.  Otherwise, you’d just stand out.

For more, info, check out the Cool Kids on MySpace.

Props to Vertical Junkies and Fitted Hawaii for bringing the Cool Kids to Hawaii.

To get familiar, check out the video:

NEW! Fitted Hawaii “Clones” shirt and BoSox New Era

It’s Tuesday, so you know the Fitted crew has got something up their sleeves. And what a something that is.

The shirt: black with tonal gray lettering and reflective ink. The text? “Ask Yourself, What is Fake and What is Real.”

Pair that up with the ill gray wool flannel BoSox New Era with the white B, black denim brim, and red underbill. This one is definitely no joke and will attract your fair share of clones when you rock it.

These joints are available now at Fitted Hawaii. Go get it, sonnn!

DJ Kero One at thirtyninehotel this Thursday

You know, Jake just doesn’t seem to stop. You’d think he’d take a break from throwing shows after another successful Next Movement this past Saturday night…

… but no, the man behind genuineHI is back at it again. This week, he’s bringing down San Fran’s finest, DJ Kero One. You might remember that I actually used the Kero One remix of “The Light” for the atypicalLIVING “Santa Ripped Me Off” Christmas giveaway. So, meet the man behind the beats this Thursday night at thirtyninehotel.

DJ Mr. Nick will be throwing down his fabulous bossa nova beats to get you all warm and ready for the sonic explosion of Kero One. It’s first Thursday, so you know that the Poetry Slam is gonna go off… but after that, where to go? Why not make the 5 minute trek to 39 and get your dance on.

This event is 21+, so bring that ID and make sure you don’t fake it. $10 at the door got you covered for a night of silky smooth sounds and danceable jams. Doors open at 9PM, so get there early and claim your spot on the dancefloor, it’s going to get filled pretty quickly.

For more info, definitely check out genuineHI.com

    atypicalLIVING covers… The Love Movement

This edition of atypicalLIVING covers… what could be Shaun Castro’s final art show in Hawaii. Shaun’s been homies with the atypicalLIVING crew since day zero, so we were more than happy to swing by and show the Love at the Love Movement. I’ve personally seen Shaun grow both as a person and an artist for darn near 4 years now. This show felt like the culmination of those years of growth. From the beginning sketches to the BFA show to all the groundUP events… and now, these wonderful masterpieces that will push the envelope for Hawaii art and Hawaii artists for the next season.

The gauntlet has been thrown, who’s willing to bring it?

Big ups to Shaun for throwing some dope pieces up there, including the ill Jesus Piece. Also, big ups to the Prototype Operatives for providing a dope spot and a chill atmosphere to hold such events.

Check out the rest of the Love Movement flicks at the atypicalFLICKR.

Also, check out some more flicks taken by RZone on the RZone Blog.

All the paintings are for sale, check them out at Prototype is any of them interests you. Also, the shirt that Shaun is rocking is for sale. You can pick up the Shaun Castro x Prototype collabo shirt from Prototype.

Nike Reuse-a-shoe program today at Niketown Honolulu

Nike’s Reuse-a shoe is an initiative that turns old, worn-out shoes into a material called Nike Grind.  Nike Grind is then used by organizations to create playground courts and play areas.

The Reuse-a-shoe collection will be happening today at Niketown Honolulu.  Just look for the gigantic pile of shoes out in front.  If you need to know more about it you can check out the Reuse-a-shoe website.

And, it was just Earth Day as well, so keep the spirit going by rocking out on recycling last year’s Dunks.

When it comes to Hawaii tattoo art, only one name comes to mind : Mike Ledger.

Mike collaborated with Fitted a while back to create the Fist City logo. Now, the Fist City makes its return as the first piece in Fitted’s cut and sew line as a sweater.

The sweater goes on sale this Sunday afternoon, with a special appearance by Mike Ledger around 1pm.  This one is gonna sell out quick, so make sure you’re there for the fun.

FINAL! Fitted Hawaii UH Custom / Shirt

Tomorrow marks the end of an era. Tomorrow is the final UH Custom New Era hat by Fitted Hawaii. Not that there will not be any more UH hats by Fitted, they’ll still make them, it’s just that they have focused on to more a more subtle color palette.

The hat has two white panels, flanked by four green panels. The UH symbol and the New Era logo are bathed in silver and the hat looks like the old school Montreal Expos caps.

The shirt comes in all black with a reflective Fitted crest and logo on the front and a reflective Fitted crown on the back. Definitely ill gear to rock.

Again, the same rules apply: store opens promptly at 11am; first come, first served; phone orders taken on remaining stock after 12pm.

Come and get what is sure to be a piece of streetwear history.

    For more info, Fitted Hawaii.
