OnThe1 this Friday – Benefit for Drug-Free Hawaii

OnThe1 returns from it’s hiatus for a special edition benefitting Drug-Free Hawaii.

All the great pieces that have made genuineHI’s Next Movement events successful were crafted during those first OnThe1 events at UH-Manoa.  Now, OnThe1 returns to bring the dopeness of Next Movement to an all ages audience. Much like The Next Movement, OnThe1 will feature a melding of art, fashion, and music for one awesome event.

The live art painting for OnThe1 will be provided by local artists Soohee and Brandon Large. Music will be provided by punk group Democratic Fistfights, the smooth sounds of Bless’dChil’ and the always dope flows from Soul Pacific.

Fashion for this event will be provided by La Pistil, ‘Maica, and ladies streetwear boutique, exclusive. DJ Memoirs will keep the party rockin’ all night in between things.

The only thing different about this edition of OnThe1 is that it will be held at rRed Elephant on Bethel Street. You know you’ll be in town for the First Friday art walk, so there should be no problems in getting to the event.

Like it was mentioned earlier, this is a benefit for Drug-Free Hawaii, so if you’re gonna attend, make sure you got $20 in your pocket to donate to this worthy cause. Doors open at 8PM and will keep going until midnight, so you can get your art walk in first before hitting this one up.

This is definitely a must-do for those who are too young to get into Next Movement or have slept of Jake’s dope parties for the past couple of months. If you make it out to one event this Friday, make it this one. Dope music, good vibes and a great cause. What more is there to say?
