The Honolulu Academy of Arts, in association with thirtyninehotel presents ICONS 2, the sequel to the film that introduced the masses to the current and future generations of surfing.
The premiere of this awesome film goes down this Friday night, 7:30pm, at the Doris Duke Theatre on the grounds of the Honolulu Academy of Arts. It’s $8 to get in and it’s open to all ages.
The after party is at 9pm at thirtyninehotel. The after party is open to 21+ only.

This shirt, titled “World Order,” has this dope effect where the graphic reads the same upside down & right side up.
(Yes, I know you just craned your neck to see it, don’t worry, I did the same thing.)

This Friday’s Hip-Hop at the Trops is a special edition featuring two amazing events in one.
First up is the first every Hip-Hop at the Trops Hot 16 Writers Battle. Here’s the deals: emcees will be battling each other, one on one, trading barbs that they’ve written either recently or from a project they’ve worked on.
The participants will be judged on delivery, content, cadence & crowd reaction. Basically, it’s a battle on who’s the most creative on the stick or with the pen.
Judges & audience will choose the winner of this one.
The second big thing going on is a special performance from Shing02. Now, if you saw the flicks that @redx105 dropped for atypicalLIVING the other day, then you know you’re in for a treat at Tropics. He’ll be there, along with Meiso and illaversion.
Revise, Cozy & Careless1 will be manning the decks, to keep you moving all night long.

The BayVI homies are back wiht a new collection of gear for the Summertime. They’ve revamped all their designs to have a more Hawaii slant, along with their constant themes of environmental conservation and resource reducing.
This season, they’ve also brought out the long awaited surf shorts along with the new shirts. Two designs of shorts, in fact, join the already awesome shirt & accessory lines for this season.
I’m also feeling the line of hats that are coming out as well.

Thanks to some extra special love from Kenta & the SIQ Records crew, atypicalLIVING got to check out the always exciting Shing02. The night was full of good people, good vibes & a bunch of music loving peoples.
Although we weren’t able to head down there due to family commitments, atypicalLIVING Creative Partner @redx105 got the shots for us.

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from the Maui boys, Chunk & Ape.
But, they’re back with a re-up of one of their most popular tees, “Givers.”
This time around, they’ve tweaked it in some Summertime colors: a crispy white tee & a pretty sweet wasabi colorway.
They’ve also re-upped on their “Pounds” and “Babylon” tees in those popular, sold-out sizes.

The first tanktop is based off of the popular “Live at the BBQ” shirt from last Summer. The heather grey tank is set off with a patriotic color scheme.
The second tank is a red number featuring the legendary tri-locks pattern down the side with the also legendary Fitted crown on the back.
Finally, there’s a foam trucker that’s dropping as well. White foam paneling adorns the top, with a beautiful Hawaiian flag draped over the two front facing panels. A black brim completes the look in front. Meanwhile, the back features a red Fitted crest hit & red snapback strapping.
